EDIT: You guys are great. I appreciate the help fixing this release day problem.
Reviews like this kill a book on release day. If anyone would do me a HUGE favor and pop on just to give a rating or review for Amazon, I'd greatly appreciate it.
If the rating drops too low, then Amazon will not promote the book and that can be the kiss of death.
It shouldn't be like this- but what a pain it is.

The characters are close to their original setup. There are good points and bad points, areas of growth and improved skill. That's hard to do in a fantasy/harem series, when the number of people in a relationship outnumber the protagonists fingers.
I try to give every book a fair chance. Tension-building is a good literary device, increasing interest and hooking readers for the sequel. You see it in serial stories in magazines and newspapers, and in every chapter of the Happy Hollisters. So why does an established author, with multiple successful series, feel the need to make an already successful book series, end on a cliffhanger? Is he insecure about his writing? Is it a new trend? Is he running out of ideas for interesting storytelling?
Mr. Burke is a good storyteller, even if he states he's close to burnout. Writing a new story every 2 months is a killer pace, and I was glad to read he's taking things a bit slower now. But that burnout is kinda obvious in this story.
