Update 10/14/22 (Patreon)
Content
Just as an FYI- I have a side project that I've been working on with a publisher for a new book.
There were some constraints placed on me by the publisher regarding this.
The project came to a head yesterday and I ended up spending the majority of the day long with probably many hours today working on getting this project ready for release.
Due to the contract with the publisher, I was not able to post chapters of it here, but I will get you all the cover and some information about it in the next couple of days.
I still hope to get the next chapter of Prism Academy 3 done today. I apologize for not being able to do one yesterday.
Truthfully, if it hasn't become apparent by the slow down in my production, I have been struggling with something. I hate using the 'B' word but it may be a form of burnout.
I am addressing it and hope to be back to my 5-10k words everyday soon, but somethings are hard to push.
I started taking a course for writers experiencing this including some one-on-one coaching from some very great people- most of whom are very successful authors.
And I reached an agreement with the round 2 editor (Adam Luopo) on Prism Academy so that I don't feel the same pressure to have it done by Monday. That just wasn't going to happen with how slow I've been. That said- it will still be done soon and the schedule from my previous update is still the plan- it just may be stretched and pushed back a bit
I believe I will still make all of the release deadlines for this year- so there isn't any concern about that. The question is simply one of how long will it take me to be fully feeling like myself and thus when will I get ahead for next year as I have been planning.
Anyway, thanks for your support.
I know I haven't put out the same number of words this month like I normally do (middle of September till now) If anyone wants a refund because of that let me know and I'll see how that works or if I simply need to stop billing for a month like I did when I had double pneumonia.
Patreon remains a small portion of my business- but I can not tell you how much I value your input and the encouragement I get. That has a value far beyond the $$$ value of Patreon for me.
Being a full-time author is an inherently isolating job because I know longer work in an office. I am at home, lost in my own world and knowing that there are people reading the chapters as they come out is always beneficial.
Thanks.
