Update 2/22/22 (Patreon)

Sorry for being slow- those of you who have been around for a while- know that when I get cranking the chapters just flow- multiple per day.

But other times I get bound up.

Sadly- one of my daughters has heart surgery on Thursday and I think it has been affecting more more than I realized. At least that is the conclusion that my wife and I came to tonight about why I feel so off.

We are confident the surgery will go well- but (and I apologize if this is TMI) another of our daughters died at 21 due to heart related complications after giving birth to our first grandchild.

That was 7 years ago- but it is still a wound we feel. I think it has been somewhat reopened by this pending heart surgery. This daughter is 31- but she is partially disabled due to some brain damage she sustained related to her heart condition. We adopted her when she was 13- she was brought to the US at 11 in order to fix her heart condition. Normally what was wrong with her would have been fixed in the first year of her life if she was born in the US.

But by 11- the brain damage was permanent. She is a very sweet girl- runs a daycare for 4 kids in our basement, is excellent with hands on things- but couldn't balance a checkbook to save her life, drive a car (too many stimuli) etc...  

And so despite the fact that she is an adult she still very much feels like our little girl.

Those of you who are so inclined, I'd appreciate prayers.

And I promise the pace of chapters will pick up. I just need to get past this.
