Weekly Devlog: 26 December - 1 January 2023 (Patreon)

Happy New Year Patrons! 🥳️

I hope that 2023 will bring you lots of happiness. After 2022, things can only start to get better (hopefully!).

This past week has seen me complete all five side stories - four RO stories and one NPC side story. I also worked on outlining the events for Chapter 5 which I will start writing this week. For those curious, Chapter 5 will include many events that I had originally planned as part of Chapter 4. Since I decided to expand the game's chapters from 9 to 12, it's given me a bit more breathing room regarding events to take place and with pacing.

So Chapter 5 will include a lot of Ishari, proving yourself worthy to form an alliance with the rebel forces and rescue prisoners from the Blood Guard. There will also be a very angsty scene that will come up - it will depend on the MC's reaction of course, but I can tell you that it's going to break some hearts. There will also be the first intimate scene of the game in Chapter 5 👀 It will be with Prince Irus, his romance is the easiest to lock in and it feels like the right time for things to get more intimate with him. Sex of course is not going to be forced on players - there will be an alternative scene where the MC can simply just be with Irus instead of sleeping with him.

I've constantly been thinking over the whole body parts issue with the sex scenes that will be included and I might make a poll - there will be no trans options for now. If I do include it, it will come right at the end. That said, I do know that there's no need to include body parts - or mention them at least during NSFW scenes and there's an easy way to keep things quite gender-neutral so I might go down this route instead and then I won't need to stress about adding in extra coding and scenes and it won't force players to deal with being forced into playing NSFW scenes as strictly male/female.

I will keep everyone updated with the way things are going with Chapter 5 - there is a lot that I have planned, though if you've followed my devlogs long enough, you'll know that I rarely follow chapter outlines that I've set out for myself. I want to say that there will be an update at the end of the month - but I might have to go to a February release instead - especially for the angsty scenes which will take a bit longer to write. If I know that I'll need more time, I'll likely do an early alpha release for Chapter 5 and then post the rest of Chapter 5 in Feb.
