I agree that Stefan is a creepy stalker, manipulator who has questionable motives for everything he has done. His relationship with Elena has been built on lies and deceit. The ruse that he is the so-called 'good brother' is starting to fall apart. Damon knew she looked exactly like Katherine but couldn't tell her. That was up to Stefan and he did try to bring that discussion up early on. Another thing with the brothers' relationship is that Damon doesn't actually go around badmouthing Stefan, but Stefan does paint Damon in a bad light to others. Yes, Damon has done some questionable, nasty, unnecessary things but he makes no apology for who and what he is. Stefan tries to be something he is not and hide the parts of him that he doesn't want others to see. Damon had to kill Bree. She tried to have him killed and would have sent someone else after him had he let it go. Even if he had been willing to forgive her for what she did to him, he would never forgive her for putting Elena in danger. What did she expect would happen if he survived her betrayal?
