Progress Report - October 22, 2021 (Patreon)

Hello, everyone!

Blacklight Model Progress

So last week, I noted how I was going to spend this week that just passed working on a Blacklight model. More specifically, I was working on outfits for it.

In total, there are 6 outfits to put together for it. It takes me about 2 days to put together an outfit with full variants and Bodymorph, which is the standard I am going for with these outfits, as consistently evidenced by my Wednesday modeling streams.

Discounting Wednesday and Saturday streams, and Thursdays being my days off, that means I have 4 days to get work done.

Between last week's progress report and today's progress report, I have gotten 2 of those 6 outfits put together. Which, when put into proper perspective, is perfectly par the course and is what should have been expected.

Why the hell I expected to be able to put together six outfits in four days, I don't know.

Regardless, I am putting that Blacklight model on the backburner for this upcoming week, and returning my focus to Overbreed. I suspect I am going to be bouncing between them until this Blacklight model is down and out of my hair. So here's hoping for some major Overbreed progress this week.

Blue Star Brainstorming Progress

One of the things I did manage to get done this past week, though, is more brainstorming on Blue Star. As you can tell by this post's image, I put together an infographic for more quickly managing the series. I actually put together two infographics, but the other isn't nearly as exciting - it's just a grid of all the Mass Effect races, and how many times each have been used. There's a handful of races that haven't been used at all yet, hoping to fix that.

Beyond just the pairings though, the narrative has made some good progress as well. Don't want to give too much away, but the skeleton for Season 3 has been put together - with Miranda getting cameo appearances all throughout! She's been a critical part of the greater story since inception, and I am pleased to see that she's finally getting properly integrated into the story. Just a shame it's so far away, but that's the price we pay for an 15-episode epic saga.

Other Odds & Ends

I've also been putting some thought into the Witcher project idea, but those are yet too nascent for me to share. Maybe next week, once I've fleshed them out some more.

Been making a bit of progress on some Blacklight animation projects. Everything is still nascent, with half of them still in the awkward stage of needing model-work done before I can progress them any farther. And even if it weren't, I can't really share specifics with you, on the nature on them being Blacklight projects.

All I can really say on them right is that one involves Barbara Gordon and Selina Kyle in a rather liberal interpretation of the characters, and the other involves Lulu from Final Fantasy X. I am also putting thought into revisiting a Vault Liz idea that Innie and I previously discussed - now that Blacklight projects are in the open (so to speak), we might revisit the idea and consider expanding it a bit.

Friendly reminder that Blacklight projects are completely unsupported and detached from Patreon, and I produce them entirely at a financial loss. As such, they are lower priority to me than my primary projects - passion projects, in the truest sense. And since my Discord is coupled with Patreon, my Discord doesn't get much more detail that Patreon does. So don't go into either expecting juicy insider details on Blacklight projects. They are developed in relative silence, and then are released suddenly and unceremoniously onto my website with a brief Twitter message about it. So if you're really thirsty for Blacklight, then my Twitter is what you want to be keeping an eye on. And you're going to want to be very patient. I don't move fast to begin with, seeing as I only have 4 days a week to work on things, and I work on a lot of things in a given week.

The DVa / Zarya project hasn't made any progress. I have made some progress on my Spontanephoto project though, after a few months of it being stuck in "I don't know what content to make to further development along" Hell.
