Website Temporarily Down [BACK UP] (Patreon)
Content
Hello everyone!
Since I've had at least one new Patron message me about this, that suggests to me there's at least 10 new Patrons silently wondering the same: my website, LordAardvark.com, is currently unavailable. Seeing as that is the source of the majority of the Patreon rewards, notably access to films and comics, this has been a source of confusion for many, and I apologize.
I suspect it is related to the fact Patreon started charging people for the end-of-month pay cycle, and my website interoperates with Patreon to manage films permissions (that's how we solved the "having a different link for each version of the videos" problem, and now all video versions for Patrons and the public are in the same video player). Seeing as the server itself is actually online, and the failure is between Cloudflare and the hardware, I am thinking it may be that Patreon tripped DDOS protection by spamming over 700 updates to my server in short order.
I won't be able to figure that out for certain until my web developer comes online though. And since we live on opposite ends of the world, and it's currently 3am for me, that means it won't be until tomorrow afternoon that it will be diagnosable.
I am hoping that within 24 hours, the site will be back online and fully accessible to everyone. I will update this post and its title when it has been resolved.
I apologize for the inconvenience, and I appreciate everyone's patience as the monkeys ceaselessly toil away at solving this unfortunate incident.
EDIT:
The website is back up. We restarted some processes on the server and now everything is back in working order. We're not quite certain why those processes went down, with no errors reported in any logs, but that's just the way of the world.
