Progress Report - June 4, 2024 (Patreon)

Hello, everyone!

Gonna keep this one fairly short and just get to the meat and potatoes of things:

The Final Five, And What's Next

The past week was spent mostly whittling down the candidate list for the next short video. My goal is to have a final personal decision made by Friday, at which point I will pitch the final candidates to you all here on Patreon, my Discord server, and the general Twitter public. I will then collect opinions over the next few days, weigh them all appropriately and arbitrarily, see how they align versus my personal choice, and come to a final decision. If I actually get it posted on Friday, then the trigger will be pulled on Monday.

With all of that in mind, I've cut the 15 base ideas down to 5: Alex Cumdump, Marie Facefuck, Pharmmetra, Whoretex, and Witcher Orgy.

Of the 5, if I had to sort them right this very second, in most-likely to least-likely to be made, the order would be Pharmmetra, Marie Facefuck, Witcher Orgy, Alex Cumdump, Whoretex.

Whoretex Club is right on the knife's edge of being eliminated, just through the sheer depth of it. There's no way I could fit everything I had written for episode 1 into 10 minutes. So what I am doing right now is barreling through the storyboarding for it, seeing how long episode 1 ends up being, and then figuring out what I want to do from there.

Chances are, I'll end up slicing the episode in half, like I did with Primordium Episode 1. Just need to figure out what exactly would be a good slicing point. And to do that, I need to have it all storyboarded.

Alex Cumdump I'm a lot more confident on keeping in. I can definitely fit it under the 10-minute deadline. I just need to take the time to actually storyboard out my remaining ideas for it, so I can properly pitch it to you all. The other three, I think I've put enough together to clearly communicate the direction the videos will go, so I won't be putting as much focus on them.

It always hurts to cut down ideas, but at the end of the day, I am just one person, and I can only make videos so quickly. And just because an idea was rejected for this round, doesn't mean it'll disappear to never be seen again. I've been sitting on some of these ideas for months, and others for years. They'll get made eventually.

With all of that out of the way:

What Got Done This Week

Alex Cumdump - 3:50 - I stated last week that I was likely to completely rewrite what I had done for this. Ended up doing exactly that. I think this version works much better. Also added the following scene, which completes the cold open. From here on in, the rest of the episode goes back to the beginning. In medias res!

Pharmmetra - 6:22 - As I said above, I think I've got enough done on this to show the direction and tone for the video. I'm not going to prioritize its storyboard going forward. Right now my biggest concern is having to cut some position ideas I had in mind. As much as I'd like to do it, I think choker-snapping will have to wait for another day. RIP.

Whoretex - 3:28 - Finally got an actual presentable storyboard for this. I'm pretty chuffed with what I have. This is still my personal favorite, in a world where time constraints didn't exist. I just love these dorks too much, and the idea as a whole is delightfully spicy in my opinion. But you can see why I am confident it'll need to get split - just the first two panels of the super-high-level storyboard are covered here, and they take 3.5 minutes. And there are 13 other panels to cover. Yikes. Now, not all panels are made equal in the SHL of course, but still. Yikes.

Witcher Orgy - 1:02 - Made a little bit of progress on it. My priorities were mostly on Pharmmetra and Alex Cumdump this past week though. Going to prioritize Whoretex and Alex Cumdump for the rest of this week, as I've mentioned previously. Luckily, this one is so light on story, it really doesn't matter - any storyboard at this point is more fluff than anything. You know how it's going to go.

Sherbecca - 3:28 - Finally managed to get this storyboarded, which very quickly led me to put it in 6th place. And in a top-five race, that means it got cut from final consideration. It takes 3.5 minutes just to establish Sherry being polyamorous, and while I am pleased with the characterization (rather iffy on the transition to the Tag-Team Twins though), that's just way too long. I haven't introduced Rebecca yet, and there is also the sequence of Sherry riding her boys while they all introduce the plot via conference discussion. It could probably all fit into 10 minutes, if I left it there, but the pacing limps on a bit too much to justify it being in the top 5. Ergo it getting cut and tossed back into the vat for now.

Conclusion

That's really it for now. Forever and always, I would absolutely love to hear peoples' thoughts on everything, and in particular what all you're feeling now that the candidacy list is narrowing.
