In defense of Mako (on this one occasion) I agree that under any normal circumstance he should have told her right away. I will submit that this was far from a normal circumstance. How exactly would it have gone? Mako: Hey Korra I know that right now you are totally worried about both the fate of the world as well as your father personally but I need to tell you about this argument we had in which you totally went overboard and we broke up. This could have waited until you had a bit of bandwidth to deal with personal stuff or one of or both of us could die and the point would be moot, but no right now is the time to have this currently unimportant conversation. Enjoy your planning sessions.
