Ah yes, the dreaded Aang is a neglectful Father reveal. On one hand, no one is perfect, not even Aang and i can understand Aang feeling the desire and pressure of restarting his culture and not being the last airbender any more, so he may have neglected the other two by mistake. On the other hand... it just seems out of character for him to ignore them at all and i struggle to believe that Katara would not point out this behavior to him. But it is what it is and it is also the perspective of the older siblings so who knows if there is more to it.

I didn’t really read it as Aang was neglectful more so that he treated Tenzin differently because of his ability. And not even that Tenzin was better, just more was going to be expected out of him. Definitely, Bumi and Kya have their own perspective and I would imagine they were very jealous of the adventures Tenzin got to go on with their father. But I have no doubt that was a loving, caring father.
