Guys, we have a small snafu with BSG. It WAS steaming on Peacock. Now it isn't.

What have you seen other channels do for full length reactions? Some have the show playing in it's entirety, some do not at all. How have you seen them presented? G-link? Vimeo? Sendspace?

Obviously this will greatly impact how many people can watch the full length reactions and I'm stumped. I don't want anyone inconvenienced.

I mean, theoretically people were paying for whatever streaming service things are on before anyway. The entire show is streamable on Amazon Prime video, you just have to pay more. I would never suggest digital piracy using super user friendly torrent sites like bitlord dot com. Never.

I’m of two minds on this issue. 1. Watch it now and people will do whatever. If they don’t own it it’s easy to get in various ways. Currently the entire series is $70 dollars on Vudu. https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/details/Battlestar-Galactica-The-Complete-Series-Bundle-/2463796 2. Wait a bit. Usually when a series like BSG goes off a streaming service it’s going to show up on another one shortly. It might even show up on Peacock again, I’ve seen that happen after a rights refresh. Since you bought season 1 you could go ahead and watch the mini + that and then see where we are with it being on streaming.

I agree with others. BSG is pretty ubiquitous and most people probably have access to copies. I’m one who watches the edited versions since I don’t have time to watch it all again… but for those who do you can put up headless versions (safest legal option) and it’s up to others to source the media. Other accounts do full eps to G-drive or Dropbox, which is a risk, but not probably huge since the links aren’t publicly available. All of this has streamed before, and all of it will stream again. “God” wants you to watch this series.

I've seen someone do it through private video posts on Vimeo and they just shared the link and password for patrons to use for access, not sure about the legality though. A lot of streaming platforms have been pulling even original content for no apparent reason, not sure what's going on with that.

If downloading a car is bad, imagine how much worse downloading a Battlestar is… In all seriousness, while the current state of copyright is pretty broken and the way streaming platforms pull content is deeply frustrating, putting the full content in as picture in picture is a risk. Aside from the obvious, I remember one creator I used to follow being targeted by a drama channel threatening to “expose” them for including the original content in their full-length reactions (shared via links to a Google drive on Patreon). Not certain how much of a thing that is more widely - I avoid drama channels as a rule - but I remember it being stressful for them at the time.

Angela? I love you. But... are you going to continue Secret Invasion? Don't pull an Andor. I don't know if this show is going to end up good or not, but you can't quit in the middle of a show. It fucks with your audience's expectations. SI is only 6 eps. You can do it.

Get the blu-rays, let's go!

I am subscribed to other channels that do show full length reactions without requiring the viewer to have his or her own copy. But it has always been either Google Play, or Dropbox that has been able to do that. :)

Jefferson Ogata

I got the Blurays from my library so i'm good.

Wish I had an answer, but I already have copies. This might have to be the case with this particular show. It's getting harder and harder to find, I'm afraid.

Kip 'Captain'

I'll buy you the full series off of amazon if thats what we need to do.

Quantum Electric Monk

You will probably need to buy or be gifted the full DVD Box Set. I have the complete set.

funnylilgalreacts

Oh I can purchase them (tax write off and all that jazz) I was worried the Patrons that were wanting full length reactions wouldn't have access to a streaming service.

I was thinking, since BSG is over 90 episodes with Caprica +the miniseries, that's almost a whole year to watch the show with two eps per week. Any chance we can do three episodes per week instead? I think the story will be more fulfilling to follow like that, and may even pick up more new viewers that way.

Some random advice: 1) NORD VPN always has good offers. 2) Find a creative way to spell "easy television" as a URL or find some other interesting destination on the web and you might find yourself with access to some shows.....

The Modulator

My public library (Lincoln, NE) has BSG DVDs available for free checkout. I don't know how common that is. It has many TV series and movies available beginning a few years after they are first available on TV.

I'm subcribe to this 2 Patreon: Indian Calypso (Europe) and After Show Reactions (Autralia) The Have Full Length Reaction to TV series and Movies but there are from diferent Country. I have the all the BSG series i was watching the serie for the 10 time because i likeyou reaction.

Slick447

Pretty common I think. My library doesn't have BSG, but I can get it for someone in about a week and we have a lot of other movies and shows on hand.

You can buy it currently on Vudu for 9.99 a season, not too expensive.

Amazon prime has all seasons for purchase

I'm posting this here because it's pinned and there aren't any recent videos appropriate to comment this on yet, but since we are heading into spooky season again, you should really check out "Behind the Mask: The rise of Leslie Vernon". It's a somewhat comedy/horror film that is a mockumentary about the typical slasher genre. It's super unique, very good, and mostly unknown. Anyone I've ever shown it to has not only never heard of it, but also loved it! Plz check it out. and don't look up too much and spoil yourself, the plot is so unique you need to experience it first on screen. otherwise I'd be giving you a small hint or something to entice you into watching it, but I'm holding my tongue in the hopes you find the time to watch it. I'm afraid it might not win a pole simply because it's not well known, and definitely not because it isn't as good as others that would be on that same pole.

Angela, I own the entire BSG series on Amazon, and I don't mind following along with those videos on my phone while I have your video and commentary playing on my computer. What I do love is when a reactor shows a tiny portion of the video screen at the bottom of your commentary, which allows me to sync my video to the comments better. One of the things Sonny has started doing is to show about 5 seconds of the full screen at the beginning of the commentary video, to help sync things--that's very helpful! If you are allowed to do that every 10 or 15 minutes, that would be even more helpful.

I owned the cube box set. Bartered it down from 60 to 20 for the entire set! They did not know what they had in their hands, i gave it away, (never loan this kind of stuff)... w/ the agreement they pass it on when their done. Just sign your first initials on the cover. This needs to be seen out there... were ever.

Ugh!! I just joined so I could watch the full length reactions. I have the Blue Ray complete set, but my current PC doesn't have a cd/dvd drive! I didn't think I'd need one again in this digital age. 🤣🤣

Sample-Text

You can get a usb blue-ray drive on Amazon for about $50. Plug it in when you need it, unplug it when you don't.

ASH

i used my PS4 to watch the BSG dvd. if you have that or xbox you could try that.

ASH

For people who cant or dont want to pay for Digital or a Blue Ray or DVD BSG complete set, you can Check Out each season at your local Library for free.

Garrick Smalley

I have seen both Google drive and Dropbox links with the full length episode either not blurred at all or with translucent words covering the show.

Definantly dont share the video files on G drive or Dropbox that is 100% aganst copywrite laws and worst if you get caught as distributer because hefty fines and even jail time can be on the table and i dont want you to get in trouble for not knowing. Having edits of the video your reacting too within your editied reactions is fine as long as your adhearing to fair use guidelines. Besides we pay for patreon to get "Your reactions" keyword being "your" and not just to watch the shows your reacting to. So purchasing the DVDs and blue rays to watch along side you is entirely the choice of us and you shouldnt feel any obligation or need to distribute the orignal content along side your reacting as we know what we are paying for when we sign up and anyone who is paying for your patreon subcription expecting to get access to anything else but your reaction is missguided in there motive and should instead be seeking to purchase the original content instead. But I also understand that you dont want to feel like your scamming anyone by selling your reaction without them being able to access the original content your reacting to. So i think the best solution to this dilema is the following three things: 1) Inform everyone on youtube before they become a patreon that full length reactions are only your reaction and not the original content your reacting too. 2) Provide infomation either in your video or video descriptons places were people can find the original content ie (i.e. Streaming services, Blurays and DVDs, using a VPN, or Digital purchase links on Youtube) 3) and finally making your full length reactions avalible for download from Gdrive with just the time on screen for people to sync the OG video with to avoid any legal issues. That way if someone cant access the original videos or have to wait to access it, they can download your reaction to keep for later. And then when they do finally gain access to the OG videos they can watch it with your reaction video. Out side of those things i dont think there is anything more you can do. So yeah Hope this helps you solve the issue. And please dont feel your doing something wrong by not being illegal XD We will find our own way to watch your full length reactions along side the original so dont you worry. And also lets be honest most of us here wanting full reactions already own the full box sets of the series anyway and are watching your reaction to relive Vicaiously though you what the first time viewing experience was like because we have run out of friends to push the show onto XD

Elion

i follow several reactors. some has shared the entirety of episodes or movies in full length for years without repercussions. i personally do not mind having to get my own copy of whatever im reacting to. Storm akima does not provide their own copy's and it works for them. they sometimes add a a few seconds of visual aid to allow people to sync up and that's it.

tempest

I have my own full set of BSG that I purchased which I use when watching your reactions. Don't worry about us. We'll find a way to watch our own copy of BSG alongside your reactions.

Sierra Chandler

I wouldn't worry about this. I watch many reaction channels like yours where they either show no video at all or just a bit of the video, in the beginning, to be able to sync my video. Personally, I only watch reactions where I already have access to the content. You'll be fine as long as you set a timer so we can sync up our videos.
