I watch Firefly on Hulu, and some of the episodes start differently than Blu-Ray copies (or 🏴‍☠️ copies). Xander will render both versions so they are easier to sync up with. YouTube still only allows a short amount of the episode to show without a copyright claim, so it will still be a short window for syncing. They block the video or else I"d have it longer.

Just wanted to give a heads up for the posts today!

Is there anything else we need to look at on any other reaction?

Good catch!

Can't wait for your reaction to The Mandalorian and a trailer is being released for the new Insidious movie and I hope this one is good because Patrick Wilson is in the director's chair 👍

Assuming Xandor is your video/audio engineer I have this to say... the countdowns are genius and everything on this channel is extremely well thought out and executed. I salute Xander and his work. I'm a musician and extremely picky about editing and especially audio, not that anyone cares, but this is all very well done.

Yay! This'll be much more convenient - thanks!

These opening Introductions are part of the original whacky Fox decisions: Because they aired the episodes out of order, people couldn't follow the story or know what was happening. So, Fox had these intros made to air at the start of each episode to bring people up to speed. Except they were composed of clips from episodes that hadn't aired yet, so they didn't clear up a whole lot. They weren't included on the DVD or Blu-ray releases since they were put in the "proper" order there. I didn't know they were on the Hulu episodes either until you started watching them here.

If you're reasonably new to this channel, you'll find that Xander is indeed a *fantastic* editor! And it's not only for the technical side of things, but also because of the excellently snarky sense of humor he displays when Angela occasionally says or does something that's not quite up to her usual level of excellence... 😉

I'm watching along using Disney+ and they have the little intros on there too. Only times I've had issues with syncing is HBO shows, we have to use Crave in Canada and often you would get past episodes recap and they wouldn't be there on Crave. Thankfully the HBO logo is pretty easy to see even on the blurred video so that made a decent syncing point.

Even though I'm watching along with the bluray that doesn't have those intros, it hasn't been much trouble getting sync'd up. But your thoughtfulness in creating versions without the intro is very much appreciated!

This is kinda unrelated but it reminded me of another show I love. Does anyone know if she has watched Chuck?

Interesting. My copies are purchased through iTunes, and they do still have those intros. Thanks to you and Xander for doing the extra work to accommodate us all! I appreciate all the work you do with us in mind!

Thanks a lot, I hope the EU DVD version is the same as the US Bluray, besides the framerate ofc, that's always a pita but I'm used to it. ;)

Yeah, I would have to record the opening for Xander and send it to them because I was watching it on Hulu, but he was editing it off of a Blu-ray copy. Neither one of us realized that most people are not gonna be watching it on Hulu because they own their own copies. Oops lol

For some of the HBO shows I just told him to start it at the HBO logo because pretty much that’s going to be in every episode. Hopefully lol

funnylilgalreacts

I didn’t even think that different countries would have a different frame rate! That totally makes sense.

For framerate differences between NTSC and PAL, you can do the following: Open up the reaction video on YouTube (not embedded on Patreon). Press F12 (or Ctrl+Shift+i) to open the inspector. Copy paste the following line into the console and press enter: $('video').playbackRate = 1.043; This will speed up the reaction video to 104.3% normal speed, which should account for the difference in framerate perfectly, though by eye it's not really noticeable. Do note you'll have to do this every time you open a new tab/reaction. I have no issues syncing these reactions up with my Disney+ watching, but I do the above trick for when I watch along with something on HBO MAX. (Currently The Wire with CineBinge.)

Yeah, that's exactly how I deal with it (1.0427 although, can't even remember why) - very handy to be a web developer these days. :)

Watching using the VUDU ones, they have the intro too. Sadly my new PC doesn't have DVD player or by using my copy. :P
