The actress that plays Dedra is amazing. She brings a depth to that character that makes people root for her which is a testament to how good of a job the actress did for such a disgusting, terrible and awful person(that the character is.) There is no good torture. No matter what information you are trying to get, torture should be illegal. Our society has been brainwashed into believing "you have to interrogate or torture the terrorist" so it's excused or portrayed as "necessary" but it should be seen for what it is - fascism(at least in how it's used in this show.)

"Can anyone ever be too agressive in preserving order?" and what happens in next episode with Syril is why i really disagree that he "deserved better". That line sounds very fascist to me. It's oppression. He appeared to be a good person trying to just uphold public safety, but at this point, he's kinda a little fascist bitch to me. Also, reminder that Cassians "double murder" was pretty much self-defense. The first one especially, the second one, is because he was already gonna be persecuted (unjustly imo) for the first one. Doesnt really justify it, but also, those guards kinda had it coming. i think also, even if you are just doing your job, even being part of an institution like the ISB, is an act of fascism. Their job is stopping rebel activity from resisting the empires oppression. Therefore, as an agent of the ISB, Dedra Meero was fascist long before we knew she was into torture, IMO
