haha the tooth thing bothering you is funny. they have technology to regrow limbs, increase your bone density, keep cancer at bay, etc. some of the stuff is alluded to be very expensive, but she's probably one of the richest people in the solar system. she likely had some sort of implant in her mouth that she can trigger by biting on it, which releases some sort of drug into her system. seems pretty believable to me given their current level of medical tech!

Ok, I really have been trying not to say “well, in the books …” especially when I think they might talk about something further on in the show, but I can no longer contain myself about Clarissa’s implants (huh … that kind of sounds dirty … but never mind that now … ). I don’t think they go into much detail concerning them in the show, but they are implanted glands somewhere in her body that she can activate through pressing her tongue against her pallet in a certain pattern. Now, the argument that whatever the glands release … be it an adrenaline or whatever … could actually give her the abilities she has in the book, which are, I think, greater than she has in the show, is certainly questionable, but if such glands were able to have some sort of switch, I’m pretty sure that even today you could implant a piezoelectric sheet beneath the skin of the roof of her mouth and it would be undetectable, and through application of pressure, you could activate something. How big would it have to be? … I think that would depend on the how fine a resolution you could express with the tip of your tongue … god damn, that sounds dirty too …. Again, in the show they add the clicking sound because how would you show her rubbing her tongue against the roof of her mouth? … ok, my mind is completely in the gutter now. That wasn’t even all that suggestive and I’ve still gone there ….

"Amos needs to get in here to snap Clarrisa's neck." Me: *sips coffee* 👀 Anna is a f--king superhero. For real. And FWIW, I can imagine a couple of dentists back in ye olde 1700's imagining today's technology and muttering "Impossible." I mean, we went from the Wright Brothers' first flight to landing on the moon in 66 years, so who's to say what weird things could happen 300 years down the road in the fields of medicine and dentistry? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yay! I can watch it in peace before our company starts to arrive. And, I second the support for the hoodie!

I really love Anna's character/representation of a religious person in sci-fi. I'm not particularly religious, don't regularly attend or anything, but am Episcopalian which isn't far off from her Methodist denomination and just really appreciate the intelligence and compassion. And not relying on religion as explaining everything so much as filling in other parts for her own understanding of things. Religious or not, her focus on compassion and human connection is nice to see. Also Klaes. One of the great things about Expanse is that everyone is flawed. Even the best characters can be very flawed not just in some 'dark past' but current decisions even when they really are trying to do good. He's a great, complicated character trying to reconcile a life of fighting oppression with rebellion and violence/piracy while he now recognizes it takes something different now that they have a chance to have more.

Tilly's zero-G tears really bring out my one-G tears.

I can't believe you let your boss get ahead of you in eps!

Gordon Cassidy

Melba/Clarissa's dental implant is an on/off switch, that's all. Everything else that follows after she trips that switch is non-dental-related. I, however, have laser braces.

Ryan Hughes

I love Ashford. Even when I disagree with him, I can still understand WHY he believes something or takes some action.

So this entire episode was shot in Zero G, possibly a first for TV?? (well except for the last few moments in the Behemoth when the drum starts to spin!) You can see it in every move people make, Melba pushing herself away from floating by the floor, Tilly's tears, bodies floating in the corridors of The Prince, Naomi floating down to the cargo bay and jumping up a level easily. Even the way Drummer floats her arms when she is falling asleep while trapped. Attention to detail is just phenomenal on this show!!

Nowhere else on tv or in films can you find someone sucking up floating blood with a shop vac after a space disaster or battle. That must be a first!

Solution to unexplained science... Handwavium! 😜

Sorry for just now starting to catch up again, family vacation. 😅 How the hell do you know what fire in zero-G looks like and that it might be a good idea to throw something into unknown space? Are you hiding that you already did some space walks? 😜
