I'm working my way through this ep; a few thoughts as I go along: 1 - "Is Alex obsessed with being perfect in that battle?" I think he might be, but I'm not sure it's an unhealthy obsession; he doesn't seem *consumed* with figuring out what he did wrong, he just seems committed to learning and improving. So... I would argue with "obsession"; I don't have enough data yet to confirm but my initial reaction is that, after hearing how close they came to death, he realizes that he needs to get better so that next time he doesn't make the same mistake. 2 - You keep coming back to "Holden is emotional". The older I get, the more I think "emotional" as a criticism, specifically with how it obscures logic, is absolute bullshit. You can be emotional and have it cloud your judgement, but you can also be a selfish, cold piece of shit and be wrong; you can also be passionate and right. I'm only concerned about right and wrong; I think Naomi is right in that Miller killed a mass murdering monster, BUT I lean towards Holden with regards to they should've kept dude alive and pumped him for as much info as possible. I would've interrogated him, then executed him. To some degree Miller made a cold decision to kill him, but on the other hand, he wasn't dispassionate enough to keep him alive long enough to learn more first. It's a tv show, so you assume in the long run it'll work out, but in real life, ignorance could result in genocide.
