I lost it when I saw that part coming!! :P Since you ask, enjoy!!! :P Critical Role vs Vox Machina animated series: The Bath Tub Scene https://youtu.be/nE9P85IywgQ?si=VAPattQQaoPcXwKf Table to Screen - Chateau Shorthalt https://youtu.be/xA_qOl7p64M?si=4_lf127XXeQ3j1Fd The spell in game is Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion 7th-level conjuration Casting Time: 1 minute Range: 300 feet Components: V, S, M (a miniature portal carved from ivory, a small piece of polished marble, and a tiny silver spoon, each item worth at least 5 gp) Duration: 24 hours You conjure an extradimensional dwelling in range that lasts for the duration. You choose where its one entrance is located. The entrance shimmers faintly and is 5 feet wide and 10 feet tall. You and any creature you designate when you cast the spell can enter the extradimensional dwelling as long as the portal remains open. You can open or close the portal if you are within 30 feet of it. While closed, the portal is invisible. Beyond the portal is a magnificent foyer with numerous chambers beyond. The atmosphere is clean, fresh, and warm. You can create any floor plan you like, but the space can’t exceed 50 cubes, each cube being 10 feet on each side. The place is furnished and decorated as you choose. It contains sufficient food to serve a nine-course banquet for up to 100 people. A staff of 100 near-transparent servants attends all who enter. You decide the visual appearance of these servants and their attire. They are completely obedient to your orders. Each servant can perform any task a normal human servant could perform, but they can’t attack or take any action that would directly harm another creature. Thus the servants can fetch things, clean, mend, fold clothes, light fires, serve food, pour wine, and so on. The servants can go anywhere in the mansion but can’t leave it. Furnishings and other objects created by this spell dissipate into smoke if removed from the mansion. When the spell ends, any creatures or objects inside the extradimensional space are expelled into the open spaces nearest to the entrance.

was just catching up on these, so happy, absolutely check out the live action hot tub scene it was abosolutely incredible improv from the twins

Any chance we could see you watching a compilation of table to screen moments? Maybe post season if you want to put them all in one, or weekly unedited ones that are patreon exclusive? The bathtub scene is especially great.

Erik O

Since your editor dropped it in, I assume you have seen the bathtub clip. What I love about that is the silent communication that goes on with Tal, Laura, & Travis. Tal locks eyes with Laura for a 1/3 sec. Laura puts her head down, and Travis looks back and forth before leaning down to look at Laura to go for it. Travis was one of the biggest shippers of Vex/Percy.

Watch the table to scene video posted above - then realize that Liam (Vax) is the one who wrote the script for this episode and specifically added it in to the Chateau

In addition to the hot-tub scene mentioned in other comments, the goldfish that featured prominently in the opening segment is CRUCIAL Critical Role Lore. That's probably the only allusion we'll see to one of the best mistakes they've ever made. If you're having fun with other table to show content, maybe consider looking up Keyleth's goldfish moment... :-)

Scanlan’s château is created by the D&D spell Mordenkainen’s Magnificent Mansion in the campaign, but had to be changed for the same IP reasons that required Bigby’s Hand to become Scanlan’s Hand. You have heard Mordenkainen referenced before though, in the D&D movie - the vault was sealed with Mordenkainen’s Arcane Seal.

Michael Kemmet

I love the easter eggs in the chateau. The cube in the entrance, the hot tub cannonball contest, the fighting pit, Burt Reynolds, Keyfish, the chickens. It was a nice way to squeeze a bunch of CR fanservice that can't fit into the LoVM storyline any other way.

Michael Kemmet

Not a good idea for Angela quite yet. Keyfish happened after A Bard's Lament, so it contains a character(TD) that would be a major spoiler right now.

Michael Kemmet

We're diverging more and more from the game. In the game, Ripley never partnered with Thordak, the eggs never hatched, Whitestone was never attacked, and Scanlan didn't leave the party this way. I also don't think the uneasy alliance between VM and Raishan fell apart before the battle with Thordak. Just to say that even us CR graybeards don't know exactly what's coming anymore. :)

Doug C

Ooh, good point. My apologies for posting so late and forgetting that detail.

What I love about the hot tub moment is that you can watch Laura during the conversation, and you can see her getting the idea. Like you can read her face so clearly she might as well be broadcasting her thoughts. After Taliesin says "cut to it", she gets this little smirk, and then when Liam says "honor", she has a very visible reaction, but nobody said anything worth reacting to right then. Also, Travis' reaction to his wife is absolutely adorable.

I’m so fucking happy they put the bathtub scene, also they did an ok job with Scanlan “departure”, jerk, iykyk.
