What a great season finale! After I’d watched it the first time, that image of John and D’Argo orbiting the burning planet stayed with me for a long time.

This is such a good episode, with oh so many very good moments. And so much happens, that it feels longer than it is. I love "I will shoot him in a way that he is still able to answer questions"and then all the moments of kinship between them all. Especially the dinner, and John's monologue. "Fear accompanies the possibility of death; calm shepherds its certainty" is iconic, and John's response is great. My take on it is that John absolutely views Chiana as a little sister, but she isn't viewing him as a big brother, she's viewing him as a male and there are only a couple of ways she knows how to interact with males - John is teaching her a knew one. I won't speculate as to the direction their relationship will take as time goes on, but I do know none of the characters in this episode are the same as who they were when we met them (Save Scorpius and his minions) I must admit, I've watched this entire series dozens of times, but I was tearing up right alongside you at several points (and maybe at a few you didn't, on account of reasons I will not elaborate on.) And it's Talyn, like Aeryn.

I like to think that Crais got to the eat with the crew because he is Pilot too and that's the only way he could share a meal with the them.

One of the fun parts of this episode is as it unfolded you almost have a clear expectation of what's coming, prepared to be devastated one way or another and yet somehow still leaves you with WTF at the end. Farscape writing is spectacular!

What other (sci-fi) show would have a season finale that's mostly just folks talking to each other and affirming their group bonds? I mean, yeah, there's a plot tacked on, but it's mostly about the Important Conversations. And you're right, it's SPECTACULAR.

The only one close I would say would be B5, in terms of meaningful dialog that's the king.

"Get rid of at least a minute and a half of the slow-mo that you throw in there..." I been sayin! I *love* Farscape but that slow-mo takes me right out of the show every time
