I watched when this initially aired in the UK and can definitely remember it as the 2nd episode. The plot of the peacekeeper tracking device logically needs to be the 2nd episode, but the first contact story feels like it should have been a later episode.

I watched it as the 2nd episode but I loved your take on it! I think if you had seen this second, you would have gotten a soft spot for Rygel sooner. Though, he definitely ebbs and flows with likability lol

2024-06-14 14:51:00 I think it was at least 4th on the original UK airing in 1999. It was at the end of December, just before Christmas. It felt really odd to me, like the characters all had some kind of amnesia, and maybe the writing team had been swapped out. It did seem a lot more Christmassy though, so it made a kind of sense. Edit: I had to make sure I wasn't losing it so I checked. Here's the BBC Genome reference for "I, ET".
