So as far the opening and closing themes and spoilers- the way anime does these, generally, is that they have lots of thematic elements and previews of characters who are going to appear in the upcoming season, but most of the specific scenes shown are not actual events, it's more just "vibes" for lack of a better word. Generally, they won't make sense until you see them in the actual show, though there will be characters that you won't meet until later on in the season, so if that's an issue, you may want to skip it. Also, youtuber AmaLee (LeeandLie) does BANGING english language covers of almost all the Fullmetal Alchemist themes.
