RE: the mummy scene, ofc there are several callbacks in it, but the one that hit me most was how they used it to make another parallel with Nolan and Mark. At the end of the s1 mummy scene, Nolan challenges Mark to a race and smokes his ass. This time around, Mark looks like he's about to break Warp 9. RE: your question about the comics vs the show, in general they've hit the same big storytelling beats. Most of what has changed has been the order of certain events. Some stuff happened much earlier or much later in the comics. There have been a lot of character development changes, too. Some characters feel much more fleshed out. Others barely resemble their comic counterparts. Also, I gotta say: I loved how they left things with Mark and Eve. Their side-to-side embrace said *so* much. A big smooch to end the season would've been one thing. But a moment when two friends grow closer and lean on each other (literally and figuratively)? That's the foundation of something special. This show can rush stuff sometimes, but they took their time with this storyline and it paid off.
