0.34 Patch Notes:

• New language: Tranditional Chinese

0.34 is the last transitional update focusing on the single player classic mode. Starting from Feb we will go full steam ahead with the multiplayer harem mode in preparation for the Steam release. This does not mean that monthly updates stop now - we will still release new versions to keep you entertained.

It's about time to unveil our steam early access plan. Please note that it is not final and could be subject to change if a situation arises.

The Overview

The reason that why we have yet to set up a steam store page is that we were unsure how to balance the needs of the players who wish to play the game on steam and the ones who are reluctant to add an adult game to their library. Although you may hide a game in the steam library by toggling the visibility in the privacy settings, the risk of accidentally exposing it may still be discomforting to those who share a library with their family.

As a solution Operation Lovecraft will be separated into two moieties upon official launch, and the two parts will be treated as two separate games:

Operation Lovecraft: Campaign, featuring all the safe for work part of the game: strategy, combat and story.

Operation Lovecraft: Paralogue, including nsfw gameplay only. While the campaign is safe for work, your progress in the campaign will be reflected in the nsfw playthrough of the Paralogue.

You may register the nsfw version on an alternative steam account if you so wish, while still being able to receive the rewards you earn throughout the sfw gameplay - simply link the two copies with the same Patreon account in the game and you are all set.

The store pages will be set up and available to the public after we finish testing the harem mode.

The Testing

We shall commence three rounds of closed tests before the game officially enters early access.

The closed Alpha test is scheduled to be around end of March/early April, open to the devs, translator team and a group of selected patrons. More details coming later.

Why Harem Mode?

Steam has been cracking down on the conventional "patch for uncen" approach adopted by visual novel publishers and demanding equal treatment for steam buyers.

Fetishes that may be potentially controversial will be harem mode exclusive. If something goes south instead of pulling off the entire game we can immediately disable the contents in question to defuse the situation. While I don't really believe things will go down that way, it's better to stay precautious, especially after the pxxxhub holocaust.

Besides, we do have some pretty brilliant designs for the harem mode if I may say so myself, and the expanded framework we built for it allows us to fulfill way wilder steamy imaginations.

The Pricing

Either version (Campaign or Paralogue) will be priced at $19.99 along with a $9.99 supporter pack including bonus contents such as exclusive costumes and soundtracks. The price of the game will increase after leaving early access.

All Patreon backers who have reserved a key shall receive the supporter packs as well, along with a unique "Pioneer" title in the Harem mode.

Korean, German and Chinese players who are unable to access the steam store page of a R18 game will be able to activate the game using the keys we provide.

Due to its complex nature, the Campaign takes longer to reach a playable state and will be added to Steam after the work on Paralogue is mostly complete.

Last But Not Least, Our Thanks to Every One of You!

We will convert all your historically pledged tiers into Likes (the currency in Harem Mode) when the Paralogue goes online to give you a head start, and active Patron supporters will continue receiving bonus every month such as pose packs and vouchers. Although none of these rewards are paywalled in the game, we hope this can be a meaningful way to show how grateful we are for your heartwarming love and support.
