Xenological Study Report: Hounds of Tindalos (Patreon)
Content
Though self-aware and capable of reproduction, the Hounds of Tindalos do not fall into any biological category. By definition they are materialized manifestation of an enigmatic space wrapping phenomenon naturally generated by a certain non-Euclidean geometry pattern, rather than living organisms. Rumor has it that they may appear from wherever angles or corners may be found, especially those sharper than 120 degrees, but no reliable sighting report supporting this theory has been received yet.
Hounds of Tindalos are not a recent discovery. Folklore of different civilizations documented them in various names throughout the history: Barghest, Okuri-inu, Cù-sìth, Keelut and Oude Rode Ogen. The hounds were known for their lust for human fluid: on rare occasions a large pack of virulent hounds would roam together across the sky leaving only dried corpses and desolate ruins behind - Superstitious peasants called it the Wild Hunt.
Being extra-dimensional and ethereal it's extremely difficult to defeat or capture one of them in open combat, which makes tissue analysis and specimen anatomy almost impossible. However, there's always an alternative way to collect biomass samples.
Extreme caution advised. Beware of the corners.
