Real-time hair rendering has always been a big trouble when making game characters. Some of you may have already noticed the strange dithered translucent effect around the edge of Erika's hair strands, which makes her hair blurry when observed from certain angles. Thanks to the help from a technical artist of Naughty Dog, this week we managed to complete a new hair shader for Alet, which is capable to overcome this flaw while rendering better anisotropic specularity highlights with no performance impact.

Probably we'll release 1.29 first if the improvements on Alet cannot be finished in time.

Any chance of any long/big hairstyles? Always felt these were lacking. I guess because of the interaction with other objects?

Yeah, Rendering hair has always been a bitch. Just ask the team of the first incredibles how long it took to make Violets.

I really do like the quality level of this project. Top notch skin rendering and the new hair looks awesome!
