Yess I feel the moment Silva released a burst of nen to distract Chrollo is not often discussed/mentioned, glad you caught it

lumine

"The snatching ability he has kind of allows Chrollo to continuously reinvent himself" it's so baffling how personable Chrollo is despite this, great stuff as always !

Yinki

Does anyone remember if the conditions of Chrollo's ability will be revealed in the anime, like Hunerpedia? I like that some nen abilities were revealed in detail on the manga title pages, and I think Im might be fulfilled with it.

Kon

They are never revealed in the anime but they can be inferred, same with Kurapika's emperor time conditions. This would count as manga spoilers but I wish someone could show him.

Your ability to analyze what’s happening in this show is insane

Wrong translation after wrong translation, more like. Sadly. I stayed quiet for the previous episode, since the completely flipped part did not come up in the discussion, but gotta do this one. Killua talking to Kurapika part. The part right after "If you don't treat (unspecified, could be us, could be me) as friends or equals". Translation states he said "then we'll do whatever it takes to help". Wrong. Killua said "then (unspecified, could be we, could be me) do whatever it takes to make (you) cooperate." It was Gon who insisted on helping Kurapika. Killua just really wants to learn the secret to beating Troupe members. If Kurapika is unwilling to cooperate a s a friend or an equal, then Killua too is prepared to not treat Kurapika that way and do whatever it takes to get what Killua wants from him. Killua wants to take down the Troupe, most likely for the money to help Gon get the game. Maybe also to avenge his own fear and inability to act. He tried to negotiate with Kurapika as equals by providing vital information. Kurapika refuses to cooperate. Killua snaps. Again, its Gon who wants to help Kurapika before anything else. Killua got different priorities.

Glad you enjoy the fight sequences, also you‘re the first reactor who has ever got the nuances of that encounter between these 3 powerhouses for example Silva‘s sudden Aura peak or Zeno‘s analyzing skill. You deliver as always and I can‘t wait to see your reactions on some future stuff 👀

DrakDoodles

This is some great info, damn. Hope you keep em coming if you notice more stuff cause it's very interesting.

Oh, there's always something. As a professional translator myself, I always find things I would've translated differently. That's just how it is. Two translators will never 100% agree on any long piece of translation. Matter of taste, style, translating philosophy, etc. I try to keep what I point out to a minimum. Only to parts which seem quite vital for main characters and story. For example, the Chrollo's fortune is translated in a way that already gives answers to the puzzle within the fortune verses. 霜月 (shimotsuki) is the Japanese name for November. It's been out of use for like 100 years now. We go by numbers nowadays. Which means, that most kids reading the manga would've been confused as to what the hell this Shimotsuki thing is referring to. Part of the puzzle. Figure out that it refers to eleventh month and try to remember the number Uvogin had. I would've said "November rises guided by the melody played by orchestra in mourning black", but, that's me. I try being as close to original as possible. Is that a vital info? No. Fortune teller that Neon mentioned deliberately tried to provide only negative fortunes (not avoiding them) so that people would strive to make them not come true, and thus do better. Is that vital info? No. Things like that. I also would like to say that subtitles are hella difficult to make. I've done some, and man, worst kind of gig ever. I'm certain that other translators, who do not have to make any deadlines, would look at my subs and immediately point out some things. Nature of the game.

Yinki

Always appreciate your information about the subtitle. I glad that transitional Chinese version I read/watched seems not bad. Still it’s very interesting to know how others would translate it in English. The “not vital” comparisons do give very different thoughts for me. Subtitle is that important and appreciate the effort the translators do.

Yinki

Yeah there’s very few I’d say but the HH manga is a must read.

Serodin

It's been cool on this rewatch to take note of the difference in looks and flow / movement different peoples' aura has.

Toffur

Loving your analysis of the hunterxhunter series so far and im thrilled to see what you make of the limited appearance of chrollo lucilfer as you delve into it. Keep up the great work <3

Jason Serrano

You can see Silva bring out a huge amount of aura which distracts Chrollo and then Zeno seeing that Chrollo is distracted for a split second for him to pin him with the dragon. Their teamwork is soooo seamless.
