This is my least favorite episode in the series and that doesn’t necessarily make it bad but I’m always glad to make it past this point and get to the good stuff. Although I give it credit we meet the chairman himself, Netero!

Definitely a building blocks episode. Togashi is really phenomenal at his world building and the slow drip feed of it. Nothing ever feels totally overwhelming (at least that was my experience). Thinking about it this may be my least favourite episode of the series… I can think of a few other ‘weaker’ episodes, particularly in the first arc, but I’d prefer that then starting of strong and then going downhill as the story progresses. Much prefer a slower build to start and then it just goes from strength to strength.

When will you be reacting to Hunter x Hunter 1999? For Hunter Exam Arc and the first few arcs, its so much much much better in the original version. Even this second phase exam is a whole lot more interesting.

Oh I'm only committing to episode 1 of HXH 1999. Any full reaction series to the 99 version would have to come after I finish this version.
