Saw this still during the episode and thought to myself “this is the still he’s gonna pick for this episode” lol

We are definitely starting to see the philosophical narrative take shape in this episode. We had the groundwork laid for it before now, but it's taking shape nicely through Thorfinn's eyes in this episode! On the topic of the mini-episode 6.5 (which I'm glad was included in your description because I actually had no idea they released anything like that at all, so thank you!), just as much as you are certainly correct that he's feeling a guilt of responsibility for the heinous actions which Einar was subjected too, there is something else which he realized in this episode. That is the relative cost of life and death. destruction and death are easy, living and creating are hard. Thorfinn went through all the toil of clearing the forest by hand, then needing and earning the tools, to admiring the craftsmanship put into a farmer's labors. He realized that how he would have previously snuffed out all this hard work in a mere instant. And I think that gives him a tremendous amount of guilt but additionally some added appreciation for just fulfilling it can be to carve out a peaceful life even if it can be fragile. So in his dream this time he wasn't killing soldiers or warriors as usual, but farmers instead. And then he sees that in the house they were guarding is a family. I'm certain Thorfinn is finally realizing just why someone would fight back at all against his kind: because of the priceless worth of all that they have to protect. Not material worth (worth thinking about relative to Ketil and Sverkil's differing perspective), but their livelihoods, families, years of toil to create a life. And I personally believe that prior to this, Thorfinn had no way of knowing the value of life, he just took it so carelessly. Yet he is beginning to understand! Last thing, and I'm thinking you had just misspoke (or maybe I was just confused by your wording) at about 24:30. It seemed as though you implied that Canute being officially crowned the King of England meant that he was taking Harald's position. Harald is and has been the King of Denmark since Sweyn's passing but he was never the King of England. Canute becoming the King of England has happened mostly concurrently with what we've been watching on the farmland side of things in Denmark. So basically Canute becoming King of England is not related to his brother's status as King of Denmark, where Canute is still the Prince. Again, I think you already know that though and I probably just heard it weirdly, but I'm gonna hold my tongue beyond that just in case.

Yep, I misspoke. I wanted to say, sooner or later he’ll become King of Denmark, ended up saying England.

My favorite part of this episode is Thorfinn appreciating the plow they lent from Sverkel. Something about him understanding that only a farmer could come up with that not only shows the amount of work they've put into their own fields but also his ability to empathize. And Sverkel and Snake bickering with each other will never get old to me, they were going back and forth the entire time. No wonder Snake's always so tired. It's fine though, since they both seem to enjoy it. The mini episode was a nice surprise and I'm curious whose idea it was. But adding another nightmare sequence on top is always right up my alley. I love it when it transitions from Prologue Thorfinn to Farmland Throfinn. His design being so different between the two really lends itself to that type of storytelling. And finally one thing I'm not so sure on, is the fact that so far the anime has omitted basically every little info box that tells us what year we're in. The only thing we've got was with Canute but that was built into the narration. Not gonna mention what the timeline is and it isn't a big deal or anything. But I quite liked how the manga informed us of the timeline, even giving us the month we're in if we skipped a couple of weeks from a previous scene.
