great episode and great review. next episode is one of my favorites so I'm excited for that one. A silly thought I had, is easy to think ah brotherhood because Ed and Al but really there are so many examples of brotherhood in the story, I'm ashamed that after so many rewatches is just now that I really see that lol

Shigeru Kimishima is now part of the main animators in the OP credits. His individual work is pretty unknown, but his key animator resume isn’t really anything to scoff at with numerous high-profile theatricals like Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Princess Kaguya, Children of the Sea, Weathering with You, etc. An ambitious shot in the board can quickly become near worthless if you have no one capable of drawing the layout for it, and having people like Kimishima will give the storyboarders more room to breathe. Not that the core was short of talent or anything, but I guess it doesn’t hurt to make it even stronger. Nameless background characters are commonly voiced by someone who was present for the voice acting session to avoid the need of hiring someone just for a line or two. Someone as noticeable as Koyasu will have a harder time hiding - instant recognition, lol.

Though, just the English title has 'brotherhood' in it. The original title of the second anime is "鋼の錬金術師 FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST" which is just fullmetal alchemist repeated twice, once in Japanese and once in English. "Fullmetal Alchemist Fullmetal Alchemist" would've been kinda awkward, lol.

Glad that they went with something nice and fitting. Could've been way worse, like translating "僕だけがいない街" (lit. the town where only I'm gone) as "Erased."

I wish shingeki no kyojin had a better translation too, it would’ve made that one s3 moment more satisfying for those who are only familiar with the English title, especially the dub watchers

Ah, I agree. Funnily enough, that's actually chosen by Isayama himself. It's on the first volume cover that came out years before it was licensed in English. When he was asked about it he just said that it "sounded cool" iirc, lol. Vol. 1 - 17/03/2010: https://i.imgur.com/XBnrLaA.jpg

I love this new OP and ED, can’t wait to see your reaction to it in some weeks lol The Alphonse talk with the Chimeras made me really emotional this time, but through that I just realized again how much I love this whole cast. Another great episode, reaction and discussion. Can't wait for friday, that one will be a good one
