Love the contrast of Pride being the first/oldest homunculus (pride is the original sin after all) while having the youngest appearance, while Wrath is the youngest homunculus, yet looks the oldest. Also, obligatory comment about how in the manga during the Ishbal flashback we get to see Kimblee being sent to kill the Rockbells, finding their bodies, and honoring their deaths. He may be a psycho but he truly respects those who live true to their ideals.

Im, I hope you understand now how we felt every time you talked about how “cute and wholesome Selim is” lol As for how popular Kimblee is in my personal experience when talking about the villains of FMAB it’s usually more common for anyone of the sins to be mentioned before him. I wouldn’t say he’s necessarily underrated but he’s definitely underappreciated in my opinion.

Storyboard – Iwao Teraoka https://i.imgur.com/Nejn3qO.png Teraoka’s never ending need to move the camera is definitely in full-force. Anything from regular pans, to zoom outs to reveal book (foreground bg art elements) layers, to the super ambitious cam-map shot in the Hawkeye/Pride confrontation. The third of which remains one of the unsung (not by you!) production aspects of this show, and fits Teraoka and his storyboarding traits like a glove. This was his second board (prev. #28) of the total eight he made for this show, so I’m really hoping we see more of that! Much of the episode was outsourced to parties not part of the usual roster, which is not really the ideal time to go with the kind of board that he likes to pen, but this was kept in control quite formidably. Praises to everyone involved. Today Teraoka is more known for his well flowing action boards, but these more mundane ones found in his early career are worth celebrating too. You’ve seen him on Shingeki 4x27 as well, which was also filled with camera tilts and movement.

and now go back to your comments about Selim in episode 32 😂😂 you talking about how cute he is and how adorable the voice acting is. And now you listen to the voice here again..and it's so creepy. That was a great twist. Poor Mrs Bradley. Takes a lot to surprise you like this.

I don't know if Kimblee is underrated in general. But he has always been one of my top 5 characters in FMAB. He's not just some maniac, he has his convictions, he's impressed with people that stuck to their principles. And he has no time for hypocrisy. And I love the scene where he describes why he has no interest in interfering with the plans of the homonculi. He's excited about how it turns out. Who will win who will lose. And...he's also so goddamn entertaining. What's not to love 😊

I totally agree about the shadowy hand, they shouldn't have shown that. I actually forgot about it and went NOOOOO because I knew you'd get it instantly and I think the reveal is more effective in the next scene with Hawkeye. It's like they spoiled their own reveal a minute before the actual reveal, which makes it less of a reveal and more of a confirmation. It could be for the sake of a younger audience, or a confused audience? But I don't like that sort of hand-holding. Either way your reaction to it was great lol. I think they hid Salim's true identity really well, many other shows would've given it away already. I also love how much you love Kimblee 😂 He's just a great villain, love his personality and his insane outlook on life and DAMN he's hot. I don't think a lot of people think about him much when they talk about FMA, which is why I'm so happy to see you gush about him cause I was the same!

Maybe it’s just the internet circles that I am in but for me Kimblee is pretty well loved. Although I would definitely say that when it comes to antagonist people do talk and discuss the sins more in general. Kimblee isn’t under-appreciated I would say but he definitely deserves more love anyway. Also I notice it takes a few rewatches for some people to totally get him. Kimblee without question is my number 2 favourite of the series. I’m a big antagonist fan in general but there’s just something about him that is soo striking to me. The main thing that everyone needs to know about Kimblee is that he can’t stand hypocrisy. So you are absolutely correct. He isn’t really manipulating Winry in that car scene because he is being absolutely genuine. I love characters who are authentically themselves and Kimblee is that without a doubt. I adore that scene with Ed and Kimblee in the context of this episode. With it being the full introduction of Pride (I mean my number 1 and 2 favourites are interacting also) Here are two people in the story that I think fully encapsulate Pride in a person. If they had a main ‘sin’ it would definitely be Pride. By the way when you are done with the series you should definitely check out Aleczandxr’s video ‘Solf J. Kimblee - The Psychopathic Realist’ it’s such a good video essay!

In the last 36 episodes reactions I always thought……will you get this twist or not. You caught so many little things that surprised me during my first watchthrough, that I was really worried you would get it. But no, you didn’t and I’m really happy that you didn’t get that twist here haha. Cause it is one of my favs of FMAB. You already said it some time ago, that you expected Selim to be more important than he seems and with this new information, it’s bound to happen. Kimblee is not my personal fav antagonist in FMA, but he would be in my top 3 or 4 prob, and I think that stance is rather normal. I think that’s due to the fact that there exist many antagonists similar to him in other anime/manga that are far more intriguing than him. Kimblee is just a side villain and that’s why he is easy to forget. He is not a bad char by far not, but there are just far better and more memorable out there. FMAB has generally a great cast and many agree to that, but even if it’s my fav anime of all time, there is no char of FMAB that would go in my top 10 MC’s, villains etc. I think I will go into it a little bit more, once you finished FMAB. What’s now with the OVA’s, will you watch them or not?
