I don't see how that would be redeeming it. Maybe there were some idiots saying Mappa as a whole studio was bad, but JJK had already been out and the general consensus for that was that it was great. I feel like the main (and valid) criticism was that Mappa takes on a bunch of projects, wearing out its staff, and not giving much treatment to the anime that are considered less important properties. Thankfully AOT Part 2 was a huge improvement from Part 1 in many aspects, but just compare how they treat AOT to JJK and CSM and it's stark EDIT: Well the comment I was replying to got deleted and now I feel awkward lol

Still a show I need to watch but I've heard great things and I will most definitely come back and watch these once I get caught up

I am caught up on the manga and this is really something special. Really excited that the staff from the first season largely decided to return. Cant wait to see your reactions and discussions

YEAH BABY, that's what I've been waiting for, that's what it's all about! Seriously though, I really think Mappa did a great job with this intro to the season. There's a few notable differences between their work and WITs, namely, a few additional uses of 3DCG, and some of the static backgrounds aren't quite as detailed, but the animation itself seems a little smoother and they stayed very true to the artstyle that the first season introduced otherwise. As well, the pacing and structure of this episode was 🤌🤌 I adored the couple Norse proverbs they threw in there, and dare I say even seemed to take inspiration in tone from recent films like The Northman? (maybe I'm crazy on that one, but I felt it so). I am so looking forward to a good few months of peak fiction.

For the longest time I’ve been pronouncing it ‘Eye Nar’ but I’ve recently watched Merphy Napier on YouTube go through each volume with someone who has studied the culture and can speak and read Norse. So the correct pronunciation is ‘Aye Nar’ basically forget the E and I in his name and go with A. The VA’s are pretty spot on in how they are saying it.
