Another great reaction and discussion. Always impressive how you can hear the japanese voice actor like you did with Miles, here are some other new ones. Miles has the voice of Zoro, just like you said, Buccaneer has the va of Crocodile/Whitebeard and Sloth has the va from Akainu. The voice actress of Olivier Armstrong is a new one for you.

Compositing Director – Yoshiyuki “Chappy” Takei Not about the episode per se, but I felt like highlighting studio Bones’ in-house compositing department for some reason – and Chappy, the person who has led it for a solid while by now and one of the two compositing directors on this show. He is highly appreciated by animators for his more subtle compositing sensibilities that don’t suppress the individuality and general work done by the animators while still highly enhancing the finished picture when needed. Highly influential for the studio’s style and his impression can be seen across pretty much all of the modern Bones anime. Chappy’s also a director turned compositing artist, which is quite interesting. Usually when someone’s career path involves both it goes the other way around. He worked on many famed shows as an episode director and storyboarder back in the day, including Cowboy Bebop, Wolf’s Rain and Hajime no Ippo. Nowadays he rarely directs anything anymore, but he did direct this show’s fifth and final ending, so keep an eye out for that. Oh yeah, and with compositing director I refer to the “director of photography.” Argued by many, including myself, to be the more appropriate translation for the credit and what it entails in anime. A cinematographer in the traditional sense does not exist and the duties one might associate with one are spread across the whole production pipeline. The kanji used in the credit hold no real weight and are basically just a relic from time gone by when actual cameras were used in the process. Today everything’s done in After Effects.
