Don't worry, bossman. Thanks for the content.

Obligatory fun fact: The scene where Ed punches his way back to Alphonse was not originally in the manga. However, when Hiromu Arakawa saw the anime original scene, she loved it!

I like the idea that Bradley was injected with so many souls and they all wrathfully fought for dominance until only one of them was left.

Be interesting to see what you think of fathers motivations after the series. I think most people who watch this show quite badly misread father even to the end

THIS is one of the most iconic scenes in FMA. One of the most iconic scenes in anime to be perfectly honest. Ed punching his way through the doorway to swear to his lil brother that he will be back … yep I’m crying again. Over a decade and it still makes me cry. You’d think I’d be over it but as soon as I see Al turn his head I just start weeping. For me this is my Edward Elric. A boy with such focus, drive and mostly importantly love. Desperately fighting against different dimensions and basically trying to defy god just to reassure his little brother that it’s okay and he will be back … best brothers in anime THERE I SAID IT Just as was stated by Polygon this lil touch is anime only. In the original manga Ed is still pulled away from Al and he say his speech about coming back to him and then the door is slammed shut. But the anime team decided to tweak it a tiny bit and have him be pulled back, have the doorway slam shut, then he punches through and says his speech then. It’s such a lil change really and yet elevated the scene tenfold. Just goes to show the power of adaptation done right! It’s interesting to observe which people will clock on that it is Al’s body straight away. Large majority from what I’ve seen do think it’s Ed initially. I honestly cannot remember what I thought because it’s been soo long. Probably the same confusion. The thing I love about this episode (well one of the things because let’s be real this episode is STACKED) is the conversation over body, mind and soul. It’s fascinating to me that there is a distinction between the mind and soul. Really makes you wonder because we know it’s Al’s soul fused to the armour sooo how does the mind work with the body in the portal without the soul? How much conscious does Al have in the Truth and how separate is body/mind Al and soul Al … I love when FMA gets into this kind stuff. Also Ed being basically confirmed as an atheist (episode 3) and yet has basically seen this world’s version of god and performs alchemy like he’s praying. It’s an interesting choice for his character. The idea that the homunculus Wrath is soo well ‘wrathful’ that the souls of their stone fought against each other untill one remained is just such a stroke of genuis. Arakawa puts soo much care into each sin and the lil idiosyncrasies that they each have. It’s just soo damn good! Oh boy episode 26 reactions almost never disappoint 😄 Great discussion with this one! And it’s just gets better from here would you believe it

Adonai, the word on the door is a Hebrew word for “God”
