So difficult to comment on your discussions for a manga reader. Especially here. You might be surprised but a lot of things you notice are being absolutely ignored by 95% of watchers I feel like. And thats kinda interesting because from my perspective these things are sticking out a lot, the direction specifically focuses on it. But of course it's easier for me cause I know the context. In general, now I get some of the troll claims that you actually read manga, but obviously you just have a different approach of paying attention to everything down to a single frame or twitching of the eye. Just a disclaimer I'm making this clear, I'm not confirming or denying anything you said, I'm saying they are on point with the information you have. I adore how you immediately saw a potential in this power system with devils going on here. Absolutely, this concept could go wild interesting if presented well. Human fear is a deep lake and can offer a lot of different things. From bats and spiders to death and war. You did a great job despite your condition, get well soon!

2022-12-30 22:39:30 Love your reaction as usual! Because of YT's copyright issue, I know you can't put OP& ED synchronous reaction, which might let you lose some new traffic. I agree with your direction, but it's a pity that you deserve more attention🥲 I think you'll be interested in some details from the OP: In the battle scene, Denji recalls Aki throwing the golden ball and then calling POWER to do so (see how proud they are🤣). The golden ball in Japanese means testicular. And then it transits to Denji breaking the egg... you know what it means. In addition, I believe the golden ball is from the public art in the Flight Club scene. -------------------------------- The high-quality animation makes me think more about the production process behind the animation while watching it. First of all, I am very grateful and enjoy the animation. If the storytelling style in the manga is like B film (in a fantastic way), then the animation is like an Art film. However, it is sad that the Japanese animation industry does not have enough time and treatment. In CSM, a still frame of the wind-blowing hair requires 23 pictures, while the common one is three pictures, and CSM makes each frame very difficult to draw because of the high quality of the original painting. (As you mentioned about the details of the hands, the lighting changes, and the realistic art style), the salary is low and the time is extremely intense. When EP2 aired, they were still searching for people to work on the frames in EP4. The reasons I thought that CSM gets so much attention from Mappa are: 1. They are 100% invested in it. Usually, studios get a very low profit from animation (for example, AoT S1 sold very well, but WIT (the anime studio) has enormous losses) 2. Before CSM announced the animation adaptation, the manga was already very popular JJK has also received more attention than AoT for similar reasons. (But I appreciate that Mappa gave AoT my favorite director - Yuichiro Hayashi!) Hope for your recovery 🙏

2022-12-30 22:39:30 The fact that you uploaded this when you're ill, you're a legend man. Please rest up <3 First, in regards to Kensuke Ushio's name pronunciation - 'Kensuke' is actually two syllables. "Kens-ke" or "Ken-ske". Sometimes the 'u' in Japanese words is silent, like 'Momonosuke' in One Piece is "Mo-mo-nos-ke", and 'Sasuke' is 'Sas-ke'. 'Desu' you'll hear pronounced 'des' too. When I was learning Japanese I found that the sounds were very consistent across each character, but that damn 'u' always gave me trouble. (clicked enter too fast oops) And yes, as you've said, his work on this show is absolutely fantastic! Granted all of his work I've heard so far has been incredible and one of the standouts of each project he's worked with. A couple tracks this episode remind of his Devilman Crybaby work. In both DMCB and now CSM, he goes for this more techno-angle for some of the tracks, and it's almost haunting - but at the same time, it fits so well. Chainsaw Man needs music to keep up with both its insane action scenes and almost horror-like vibes, but at the same time be able to switch back to a slow, almost gentle piano for the quiet moments. The piano use really works too cause it's contrasted WITH those techno beats, it's almost like the instruments become corrupted during those scenes. I could gush over the guy's work all day, so I'll just leave a rec for Devilman Crybaby and A Silent Voice (movie) here. I really appreciate how engaged you are with this story so far, by the way! But more than engaged, I think you understand and see the themes and things Fujimoto is trying to tell in this series, and you make direct attention to it. It's very easy to see this series for the first time and take it as "fun bloody shounen about a guy who turns into chainsaws and he's horny" - which it is, but that doesn't mean it can't also be mature and bring up interesting points of discussion that not many other series do. And your analysis and thoughts so far definitely see the discussions being brought up in this show. It would be easy to dismiss Denji's uh... horny...ness... as a gag or just a trait of a typical shounen protagonist, or to bring that to full attention and ignore everything else about his character, but there's a balance there and the horny is just as vital to his character as his want for a better life. One last thing, because this is long-winded enough as is, but Makima. Man. Makima. For the longest time, it was common to say that female characters in shounen jump series were useless. There were exceptions, of course (One Piece for one), but it's hard to deny that female characters rarely get a chance to shine in the spotlight, especially in a position of power and as central as this. Naturally Power shines as a female character too, though in a different way from Makima. I mean as you mentioned Makima is a bit predatory, but that's what makes her so good as a character. Let women be toxic cowards. Looking forward to next week's episode and wishing you a speedy recovery!
