About the incestuous family tree: In the official family tree on the Dark website they also include pictures. There you can see that Katarinas father is actually the shepherd from season 1, who was also at Mads' funeral service. You already read that his name is Hermann Albers. Remember that young Helene, about to get her abortion, introduced herself to Hannah as Helene Albers. So this was obviously already her maiden name. This strongly hints (or in my view even confirms) that we're dealing with an actual incest-case here, maybe involving some form of abuse. Which might also explain, why Helene became pregnant so early on.

I’m confused, is our Jonas we been following from day 1 technically dead?

Anonymous

kinda but not really. there were two version of jonas that split after the apocolypse. one were martha saves him, and another were he hides in the basement. so one version of 'our jonas' that we have been following since episode 1 is still alive in the future with claudia at the moment. but the other version of 'our jonas' was killed by martha in the alternate world. both versions were the same person up until the moment of the apocolypse

Goddamn this story can get so damn confusing. But the zoom and enhance session is helping 😂

I remember that I said back back then "i thought Noah is Bartos's real father, they look related with both having that proeminent jawline". Well, now we know that is a "well yes, but actually no" moment 😂

I used to be a bit annoyed that a lot of the events at Eva’s world seemed a bit unnatural and forced by Eva and her soldiers to make it happen like it did in Adam’s world. However, I recently noticed a beautiful symbolism that changed my mind about this manner. We all know that Eve was created from Adam’s rib, to me this fits the situation with Eva’s world. Eva is creating her world based on Adam’s world, or in other words (Eva’s world is generated from Adam’s world), or at least it looks this way. I know everything is supposed to be in a loop and there is nothing such as “happening first “ or “in prior to something else” but I think you got my point.

Be Happy

My God , this episode !! I am happy that I wasn’t the only one stunned speechless after watching it for the first time !! And I put emphasis on ‘first time ‘ because as you say this show is a certified rewatchable Gem!! I loved the family tree diving, and of course the post reaction discussion which honestly the main reason I am in this channel !! Those discussions are really golden :) And yeah, you re right, it feels a bit like a conclusion but not ! As per usual of Dark tradition Dark is really the best live show out there in my humble opinion ! And should we again at this point talk about how genius the montage is, and has been throughout the whole show!! I can only hope you could do a review video for the 3 seasons and your general thoughts about the show after you finish it :)

I love how the split screen montage mirrors the intros and that song that was used just builds in intensity. Definitely a masterpiece.

I don't remember Hermann Alber's name actually being spoken. Did he introduce himself to Egon, or was it on Egon's report? The realization of Helene and Hermann's relationship kind of snuck up on me when I considered the last names and the ages, but that was after the show when I read a post that identified Hermann as the shepherd. eta I never considered the end credits, I've never watched them, so they don't count, lol.

His name was never mentioned in the show itself. Don't know if it came up in the credits.

My absolute favorite musical montage this episode. The Pioneers (bloc party)-m83 remix. Amazing editing, ties so many things together, it’s awesome.
