The reveal was so constructed well that the signs was always there, that episode is one of my favourites

I love that when the Doctor et al are "falling into the trap" the same foreboding theme plays that was played at the end of Midnight when it was established that he still has no idea what the creature was and no longer even wants to know. Murray Gold is awesome.

And the music during River's revelation at the end... chills, every time.

There's a big hint about River being Rory's daughter in Day of the Moon! Around right after the final fight scene.

Ou interesting, though I believe she was speaking of the Doctor at the moment, My old man gets used a lot as a term for Husband. I took it as her asking Rory if The Doctor had seen what she just did, “he gets ever so cross”

That’s interesting I associate it more with fathers in the UK, though I have heard it refer to husbands as well. Georgia Tennants insta story right now refers to her old man (Peter Davidson) funnily enough.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching this, very fun performances, but I do think it's incredibly silly haha. It's like Moffat's version of the most bombastic cheesy RTD stuff. I don't usually predict anything in shows, but even to me this one really felt like the obvious conclusion. I feel like I'm not on the same page as lots of fans who absolutely love this episode and this "twist". Still, fun! Also -- yes you're right, at the end of Season 3 I believe the Doctor and the Master discussed picking their own names.
