Such a great episode! Enjoyed your reaction and thoughts. It's probably in my top 10 or 15 too. Moffat firing on all cylinders with fast witty dialogue and clever timey-wimey plot. If you'd told me beforehand "Doctor Who does A Christmas Carol" I would've been like.. eh ok sure. But it's probably one of the best modern adaptations of that classic story. But my favourite things about this episode are the production design and the music. So much room for Murray Gold to own the space. Abigail's song/"Silence Is All You Know" is so good. As you said, it all just feels incredible. So much Christmas-y nostalgia. I cry every time I watch it. It's the kind of episode I will very happily watch again every year. Funny how you mention the literal fridging of Abigail in this episode, I hadn't thought of that haha.

Yeh Abigail is played by Katherine Jenkins, she's a famous opera singer here in the UK

You can definitely tell how much Moffat loves A Christmas Carol (I think it is on record that it’s his favourite ‘christmassy’ story) I love the meta aspect of it, particularly as you say that he met Dickens back in season 1. I really adore this one myself. It’s the one that really feels like a Christmas special. Whereas the other just kinda had the holiday season as a backdrop. Every element just feels nostalgic. And yes that is her voice. She’s quite popular in the UK and initially they were only going to have her voice be in it but decided that she could be the character too and she did pretty well.
