Hannah really is one of those characters that you hate and then eventually really enjoy for how awful her actions are. That scene that starts off the montage…I was in disbelief during my first watch.

Oh yes, Hannah is hated by many 😅 but I like her character, I think she's so interesting. You never really know what her next move is going to be. And I do kind of empathise with her. If you try to see beyond her manipulative side, she just seems so lonely and craving real connection.

I get the impression you were as frustrated as I was (in a good way) when they keep ethereally referring to Claudia's goals as well as these 'factions' that are trying to control time. Like what do they really want? Everyone acts like they're in the right but with no further elaboration as to why, only 'we're good, they bad'. Ah but I can't wait to see you pick that all apart more! Well, after the break that is lol

What an episode. Egon deserved to know the whole truth about ulrich before he died. And speaking of ulrich, he might be the most tragic character in the whole show alongside mikkel. I hate hannah soo much (not saying she is a bad character)

This tragic Parent/child interactions resulting of the death of the parent was some of the many reasons why I decided that Dark is the greatest live series ever written. It is unbelievable the amount of planning, of character development, tragic stories and especially how everyone and everything is connected in this show The acting in this episode took it a step up with Claudia haunted breakdown and Stranger’s ability to convince us that this is real, those feelings, emotions and struggles are real. I love your analysis of Hannah!! Spot on. In my 1st watch, I didn’t hate her but I was angry against her for doing this to Ulrich (who we sympathize with through his tragic story at this point) , but on my rewatch , and these seasons sure deserves a rewatch , I sympathized with Hannah. Maybe because I am a woman like her and feel for her for not being wanted, but it s essentially because through the characters backstory and writing you understand : this girl who isn’t innocent by any mean, just wanted to be loved and needed. Neither Teenager Ulrich loved her , neither his adult self who had an affair with her did. She seeked love for Michael , but he has soo much trauma and struggles that he couldn’t reciprocate as she wanted. And finally, even the one love she thought unbreakble,Jonas, made her feel bad and rejected her. So she doesn’t owe anyone anything and especially not Ulrich because as they say, you reap what you sow!! Excellent discussion as always. Can’t wait for the brilliant finale.

Imagine what might have gone through Ulrich's mind when the police told him that "Katharina Nielson" was there to see him...and then seeing Hannah

I appreciate your decision about rewatching seasons 1 and 2 before moving on to season 3. I hope it will be only a short break. Just thinking about the season 2 finale though, I don't know if I would have the strength to not immediately go straight into season 3.

You can say anything you want about Hannah, but it takes a "special" kind of person to approach a crushed, broken, drugged man, give him hope and then pull the rug from under him. I guess in her mind it's equal justice. It's the same vindictiveness she showed as a kid when she accused Ulrich of rape, except now it's fine-tuned to do the most damage. Interesting that she took Katharina's name. It's both amazing and hilarious that we can tell who's at the door from their knock. Katharina is like an angry bull in a china shop and you just know that glass will be flying when she enters a room, lol.

I don’t think they even told him anything, it seemed that they just took him out of his cell while he wasn’t expecting anything until he raised his head and found Hannah in front of him.
