Yamamoto really outdid himself with the score in this episode. Also, the fact that Isayama spoiled Ymir's backstory in the Season 2 ED song before this manga chapter was even released is proof of his incredible writing

By far one of my favorites episodes of Shingeki. this triology its for me at the level of Midnight sun. its the pay off, and its too good.

This is definitely one of my favorite episodes of the series. I love the color choices and portrayal of both Ymir's story and the beginning of the Rumbling. The dark red sky really emphasises the sheer terror of what is happening. Plus the new Yamamoto composition 👌perfection!

Remember when Eren saved Mikasa and Armin from the cannon in Season 1 with his incomplete titan form? And how terrified they were while they were sitting under the rib cage of the titan. Now here we are seeing the same thing again under very different circumstances (the flower also appeared in that scene). Good shit Isayama. Im surprised you didnt mention that during your analysis.

A small detail. The number of hands pointing towards ymir was 13. And the number of petals of the flower were 9. Nothing more to say since you as always understood everything
