I've always thought the Season 1 1964 set of episodes "The Edge of Destruction" were the lowest points of Dr. Who but they had an excuse, lacking sets, funding, characters. But now that I've seen this special... wow... that.. that was a really good way to show people how not to write a story for an hour straight. That was abyssmal, and the acting from a lot of different characters seemed off. Only person that seemed in character to me was Donna and maybe Wilfred. I understand the Master is a different person than they were many many years ago but I just can't get behind this interpretation of him. I can never tell if I'm supposed to find him menacing, pity him, or take him as comic relief and he never really accomplishes any of the 3 very well. Hopefully Part 2 is better. Reaction is good as always. I do not think I would have been able to finish this special by myself lol.
