And know this, Doctor Donna. You will never be forgotten. Our children will sing of the Doctor Donna. And our childrens’ children. And the wind and the ice and the snow will carry your names forever.

So the Tardis is supposed to have 6 pilots, like we see at the end, which is why the Doctor is always franticly running about to fly it, he’s doing the job of 6 people

Journey's End is such a fantastic episode, and holds up so well, seeing everyone together, as always Catherine gives an amazing performance, she was always known as Comedy actress in the UK , but I think Doctor Who showed people how amazing her range is. I also loved the scene between Rose and Martha when she says "Oh My God, He found you" . so many classic moments ! looking forward to the 2009 specials that are to come :D

It seems most of your favourite episodes are written by Steven Moffat and i think you're in luck because you may or may not be close to starting his era of the show...

Goodbye to the best companion in NuWho (alongside the next one(s)...)

There is a deleted scene with a set up for the next episode with the villains from the next episode entering the TARDIS and it just looked rubbish and cheap and I'm so glad they deleted it to let the sadness of the final moments of the episode to sit.

Also, there is one more episode before you move onto the episodes filmed in HD.

This episode was going to have a cliffhanger ending but the scene was deleted because they felt it took away from the emotional ending

The Noel Clarke thing is hard. It's difficult to separate the character from the actor, but I'm trying to. My favourite moment in this episode is that brutal smash cut to the Doctor when Rose and Metacrisis Doctor kiss. I get your apprehension towards that scene, but damn if that isn't a perfect edit, and maintains the tragic aura around Rose's story.

I find Martha's arc really interesting here too. In series 3, she did for the Doctor what he usually does for humanity - saving his life time and again despite a) him never fully accepting her and b) his self-destructive tendencies. And now in series 4 her path from passionate idealist to "the person who is willing to press the button" echoes his - a doctor who became a soldier, and in the end was prepared to sacrifice her planet to stop the Daleks.
