About L "losing the edge". It's a weird translation. Light said "with this L is out of means (to counter me)" Hope this clears things a bit. Light is still gloating, but he's gloating about putting L in a zugzwang of sort, a position where any move is losing with no immediate counterplay. L has no choice but to release the two prime suspects. Task force is convinced Light and Misa are now clear. All Light has to do is to mate L, kill him. Which was always his goal, but now Light got his own pieces to move, and they're very close to L. Rem did initially agree to kill L too. Mate in a few moves is on the board, or so it seems at this point.

There is something i never understood about this episode. Light had to kill someone to keep his memories, but Misa no, she immediately grabber the letter and left the Death Note, beside that, we never see her killing someone after that. It's the exact same case as Light iirc, what I'm missing?

It's not the same at all. The Death Note Misa picked up didn't have a current human owner. It was just there, buried.

One of my favorite little things about this episode is the use of the sound of an airplane engine as L turns to see Light with the notebook. I'm positive that was a page out of Godfather Part 1 with the train sfx as that moment in the diner plays out.
