Am I right in assuming that this episode addressed your concerns about the story direction from That Day? I felt the same way you did after first watching That Day, because I was worried the series would lose some of its titan mysticism and fantasy elements.

Hey Im just a fun fact , only page 13 of the first chapter is numbered in the whole manga.

I know you will bring up Bran!!!I've been waiting for this moment for a year!

The 104th is dividable by 13. Erwin was the 13th Commander of the Scouts..

I loved the reaction and discussion. It seems that this episode is setting things for the future since many questions were answered in the previous episode. I think this episode might be as important as the previous (Maybe I am exaggerating Hah) (I apologize for my English, hopeful it is clear) -For the last scene, when the Owl talked about Mikasa and Armin, there are two possibilities, it is either Grisha's memories, or it could even be Eren's memories. but I think it is Grisha's memories because I don't think there's someone that really close to Armin and Mikasa, except Eren. That is why I think it is most likely that is Grisha's memories. Another thing is the similarity in the situation, injecting someone to continue the journey of freedom. -For the memories being sent, I originally had two possibilities, the first one is kind of what you said, but it was more general I did not think too much about. I really like your idea of sending memories, but now who could send their memories to other people? Is it only the founding titan, or any of the nine titans, or maybe all the Eldians? It seems to be that the 9 titans can send their memories, we saw that Historia got Ymir's memories. Another possibility is that is more of unlocking these paths that lead to specific memories. It could be that having royal blood, or one of the nine titans make it easier to unlock these paths. something to note, you could actually see 8 branches of light that merge into one light. This probably represents the 9 titans, 8 of them being connected with the founding titan. -For the scene of Ymir, what came to my mind is that in a moment, she was able to see some of the paths. -I believe that there is someone that is supplying the royal family on the island with injections. The royal family had to use 7 to 8 injections, and I don't think there is someone on the island that knows how to make them. Now, for the injection that Grisha used on Eren, it could be that Grisha was able to make using his titan, or maybe he stole it from the royal family. I think this is most of the episode. Since I didn't comment in any of the previous episodes, I will leave it with two points. -I saw that you noticed something in the reaction, but you did not mention it in the discussion. I think you forgot to mention that they were able to know that one of the people was gonna turn into a 4-5 meter titan (I think). This means that they either able to know your titan form, or they can turn you into any titan. -You could actually tell that Moblit died because you could see him with Erwin's dead comrades in episode 16, but you cannot see Hange with him, which in a way an indication that she is not dead.

Now that you're aware of the Curse of Ymir, we can do some simple math with readily available information to explain the name of the first episode. The 145th Fritz King built the walls. Each king ruled for 13 years. 145x13=1885 102 years had passed since the 145th king built the walls. 1885+102=1987 6 years have passed since the events of "That Day" when Wall Shiganshina fell (Eren inherited the Attack Titan shorty after). 1987+6=1993 Eren has 7 years remaining. 1993+7=2000 To you, 2000 years from now

Wow. These reviews are so good. 1hr+ videos feel like 15 minutes!

It's like a endless circle, right? (If this is correct, imo it's, but who knows with AoT) Eren sends his memories thought time to Kruger Kruger says that memory to Grisha Grisha say that memory to Eren Eren sends his memories to Kruger...

Mati D.

I thought the same but in a different way "To you, in 2000 years" "Their ethnic cleansing continued for some 1.700 more years" (This was say by Grisa's Dad when he was teaching him the story of their ancestors) So... if i'm correct, we are close, really close to the 2000 years. I guess when it ended, Grisha's GRANDPARENTS were "the first" (year 1.800), Grisa's Parents (year 1.900), Eren (year 2.000).

The royal family on the island would just need syringes, since the "serum" is just the spinal fluid from any titan, something that was exposited just last episode. They can keep pulling it out of whoever has the Founder if they need it, I doubt they're in the dark about most of this stuff. It was already revealed that the interior police was keeping a lot of tech from the hands of the general populace, and the ruling council that was working with Rod claimed that the founding titan scream that would wipe all their memories during the uprising arc wouldn't effect them, so they probably weren't even Eldian. I imagine the Reiss family just had syringes and it was never really a big deal to get. Grisha either took one from the chapel like Kenny did, or knew how to extract it himself since he's a doctor anyway.

Do you remember that movie "Interestelar" 3rd dimension is where we live with up, down left right , and depth, but have no access to time. The 4th dimension its explained in this movie and I think is just a theory that was used in this movie very well done. Not saying AoT follows the same rules but it is good to understand this movie or general knowledge of the 4th dimension theory explained by a scientist: https://youtu.be/TapAplvGtQY This comment was edited like to the 20% of the original which was very very long, now it's all good 🤣

Are you planning on watching the season 4 trailer when you finish season 3? I wouldn’t recommend it.

I think he already said he won't check it out. Which is good :-)

These manga chapters came out around the same time that the movie Arrival did and it kind of blew my mind, because I remember thinking there’s some similarities in how memories work in paths and Arrival 🤔

You think so? Ok should I just say watch the movie Interestelar? Edited main comment

God damn auto-deletion, posted my other comment on YouTube instead. Also, yeah, in the manga Historia reads Ymir's letter here and it lays out her entire backstory just like in season 2 episode 10. They had to find a way to incorporate the letter scene in this episode despite already having shown her backstory, which led to a very fast montage of events seen through Historia's head instead as she touches the letter. I prefer the anime in terms of when they originally decided to show Ymir's backstory, as it was a perfect transition while also at the height of her importance in the story. Showing Marleyan soldiers and her being turned now wouldn't be nearly as informative or interesting too as you were already explicitly told the concept of it all right before it. This way you were shown, but kept guessing at what's happening in "that place". This also means, of course, you had way less to work with upon stumbling on the basement reveal in the manga without Ymir's backstory.

"What the fuck just happened" The very first episode I watched you do, IIRC this was fairly new at the time. Or maybe I had just read it. I don't know, either way, it was fresh knowledge for me. And in Episode 1 you were talking about Eren possibly seeing the future. I mean I had seen the same stuff but never really considered it stuff happening in universe per se? Either way it was mindblowing to me.

Ivan Hundric

You're wrong, the smiling titan isn't Dina Fritz, she's Dina Yeager lol

I like Arrival! Glad you brought it up. I can see some similarities also

You know someone is paying attention in AOT when they care about my girl Ymir lmao, the weeb will favor Livaï

This might explains why there are dislikes in the recent early access videos

Just an info for season four: The Final Season episode 5 is scheduled to broadcast on January 10th (not January 3rd) because of new year holidays. That means one week of break. I think it would be great if you could use this break to catch up to season four 😃

FILMBuFF

Yep 👌🏼 I was quite happy to hear about this, gives me a chance to be closer than before.

Cant wait for you to start reacting to season 4!!! Also, to everyone. You have to try to listen to the season 4 ending song high. Especially right after finishing an episode. Honestly its so fucking eophoric i wanna die. (Not really lol)
