Loved that you recognized Floch. Most reactors will just dismiss him as an irrelevant background character and tell him to shut up but it is exactly that that makes him so fascinating. And while I also shed some tears this past 3 episodes, Floch’s speech was the one that broke me, surprisingly. I’ve never been through it myself which makes it even more odd how his possible survivor’s guilt got to me. Just the thought of wondering why you deserve to live over others. And I think subconsciously that played into his “I need to bring the Devil back” stance. I think he convinced himself that saving Erwin was this divine duty so that he won’t feel guilty about surviving the charge over everyone else. And I feel that is so tragic but has the potential to develop him into an interesting character, from a supposed irrelevant background character no less.

You are way too sharp!

There were some mistranslations and liberties taken by translator, but I'm glad you weren't affected by them.

You are the only person I have seen who recognized Mikasas headaches.

Hængeklumpen

his name is Floch, and he is best boi. litteral will never do anything wrong god bless

Floch is pronounced with a K sound at the end. It is from the german word Flocke which means flake.

Anonymous

Is it though? Floch, the way it is written is not a German word. It could be a German name (Not that I have ever heard it) Where did you get the information from? Would be interesting to know.

Serodin

They've never crossed my mind before as having a meaning or being significant, but now that he has brought it up and made that connection, I think perhaps it might tie into the events of a certain OVA.

I don't know whether you plan to start S4 of AOT soon, but im gonna say that the opening is 100% spoiler free and can be watched episode 1. :)

Not that there's anything wrong with what you guys wrote regarding season 4 up there, but try to keep the season 4 discussions in general outside of here since it's not something he's visiting in the immediate future and it will eventually lead to hinting.

My biggest problem with this ep was that it made Armins sacrifice cheap, . This anime is my favorite show but i hate the plot armor sometimes, he gets roasted alive and falls from 60m and still survives... anyway Hanji dealt with Erwins death in such a mature way. Eren putting Armin on a pedestal erased everyone's else efforts., Erwin did so much for Eren and Eren felt nothing for him. Aot community always talks Armin had more hopeful dreams and deserved it more thn Erwin, but literally everyone had dreams, hopes, friends, and families. Armin and Eren's muh Ocean getting priority is such a load of crap. Especially with Armin already accepting his death to prior to this.

What people in the community think about a decision shouldn't affect your view of the episode itself though. Armin got "priority" (or chosen) by default, because Levi chose to let Erwin rest. Levi didn't look at both of them and go "oh yeah Armin's dream gets priority" just because he injected him. Also, Eren had no time to "feel" for Erwin when the other person in this is Armin, that's a no brainer for him. You can't expect him to compose himself enough to be nuanced in his argumentation by stating he respects Erwin but it needs to be Armin or something like that when that rooftop looks like that, it would be so unnatural. The more nuanced Eren would be in his argumentation, the less convincing a case he would've made for Armin, which is counterproductive for his goal of getting his childhood friend back. Armin fell from 40m on a roof (from the Colossal's upper torso to the height of the house he landed on), not 60m to the ground. The manga had him still anchored to the Colossal's teeth while falling aswell. If the bar for "survives" is breathing in no matter what state, manually or not, you can tank some burns that make you visually look horrible and hurt enough to make you pass out. Pain and how you look doesn't automatically shut down all your organs instantly. Then the fall certainly paralyzed him, but the conditions for a serum injection is, again, having a beating heart. Those numbers, nuances and landing surface matter if you wanna argue realism so hard in an anime. Add a tiny wholesome plot armor and you get a nice clean bamboozle cough.

Yooooooo, you WOULD be a Mr. Robot fan. I highly agree. Watching that episode was something special. Just like this one
