IT IS HERE!

I was humming Jackson 5 - I want you back while casually switching tabs and see this pop up, so unexpected. I didn't realize Patreon refreshed the posts tab automatically. Edit : 35+ comments on YouTube and it's only been out for like 10 minutes, I'll have work to do it seems.

Well the blade at reiner was not slashed from behind the neck. Its going through his neck as you can see in the frame after levi falls down he is putting the sword in his neck straight. And yeah that other blade covering his neck is directorial censorship, it will remain but in this case it doesn't do much since we see the blade through his neck in the next shot..lol also red eyes were there when eren controlled the titans.

Anonymous

I just pledged for the remaining episodes. I just couldn't wait until you release them to youtube =D

FILMBuFF

Oh I know about the mindless Titans having red eyes in 2x12, I was wondering if they showed the Beast Titan with Red eyes before this.

ArtficialFlvrz

I imagine this is the last new thing we'll get from you until 3B starts airing, right Im? Aside from finishing the edited discussions for Youtube I suppose. As slim of a chance as there is, I hope you can somehow slide the 3 Lost Girls OVAs in eventually, even if it's only in early April when you're getting ready to start up again, get you back in the AoT mindset.

Anonymous

I can’t wait for you to watch all of this man

Anonymous

Btw Im, apparently like 95% of this trailers scenes are from the 1st episode, and 100% are from the first two, so I wouldn’t worry about them showing all their cards in the trailer. This is just the early stuff.. and if that is true I can only think what they have in store for us later!!

Darth Danker

I think it's good you take your time on these videos, the quality of them really shows!

Im as caught up as you Im, so this is just my guess/theory, but i believe that the coordinate and the founding titan power might be two completely different things, eren having both of them. It was those red titan eyes in the trailer that got me thinking, they look just like the red eyes of the titans in that one shot in the se2 finale. As if the beast titan had the same coordinate power as eren. Sooo... if he really is related to grisha as you say, maybe it is some kind of jaeger family power that grisha already had when he came to the walls, and the beast titan has the same thing. Would explain how he controls the titans, and why reiner said in se2 about the coordinate "we gotta get it >back

Squidlord

Anime only here too. I came to the same conclusion as you did a while ago. That The Coordinate and The Scream are two different things. It was actually confirmed in one of the mid-episode cards that Annie has the Scream. So my theory is that The Scream is an ability that any shifter can learn (Annie used it, Beast Titan seemingly too), but it is very hard to master. The only one who can achieve the full mastery over The Scream is The Coordinate/Founding Titan and its wielder has to have the special blood, "Blood of the King", blood of king Ymir (the first Reiss king?) to even have the access to mastery of The Scream. In short Blood of the King unlocks The Coordinate, The Coordinate unlocks the full mastery of The Scream. It is very similar (actually exactly the same) to TES's Dovahkiin/Dragonborn and the Shouts/Thu'um

You should react to Your Name

I imagine we'll get the Game of Thrones trailer reaction.

I don't know if anyone else thought "damn I need 3D glasses for this second part!" seriously it would so cool. There are going to be some amazing moments where 3D would totally work.😎😮👍

Lol there’s a post in r/Shingekinokyojin that’s talking about how you might be a manga reader. You’re too smart for these dudes

Anonymous

People accusing others of being manga readers shows you where their intelligence level is at.

You don't have to worry about heavy exposition in S3B like S3A. there are 12/13 whole episodes. Remember episode 17 you said it was non stop from start to end. yeah thats what you'll feel like mostly every episode. The trailer is ep 1 and only 1 shot i guess from ep 2.

Anonymous

One detail that I loved in this trailer is that you can see where Bertolt grabbed the wall back in episode 1. https://i.imgur.com/oc9GOVe.jpg You can even see it a bit in your thumbnail.

FILMBuFF

Oh but I love heavy exposition, it's the reason 3A is my fave of AoT!

FILMBuFF

On a different note, I've been watching Accent Central's S3 reactions recently, easily some of the best reaction content I've seen on YouTube. They have become one of my fave channels very quickly, it's the type of reaction content I hope to see on YT, but rarely come across. They deserve so many subs, I hope their channel blows up during 3B, I know I'll certainly mention them in my vids. I don't have the biggest reach, but I can certainly help a bit.

Anonymous

They switched from dub to sub from 1x3 onward due to popular demand. Their discussions are kinda lackluster until 1x5 happens and then they really start getting into it from 1x7 onward. I've left the playlist of their AoT reactions on autoplay as background audio in the past while I do stuff at my PC because it's just some great and funny back and forth, kinda like you're listening to 3-4 friends talking to each other about the show without a camera in their living room. They have very different personalities and complement each other well too.

It’s a shame that some people don’t understand how much time and effort it takes to edit. If what you do requires presenting your work in a certain style or manner, a big chunk of the time will be spent making your work look, well.... presentable. I used to do a bit of design and only 10% of the time is creative work. The rest is just churning out floor plans, layout, details etc. I imagine this is the equivalent of editing in media work. So I understand in that respect, especially not only how time consuming it is but also how so very exhausting. No worries Im, take your time with it. Your content is quality and that is why I created a patreon just to pledge. Believe in yourself and in your patrons here (and also some in Youtube) and ignore the ignorant.

Just an FYI, the return date for the season has been confirmed for April 28th!

Squidlord

April 28th lol wtf!? Might as well have been May! Im just got an extra month to edit discussions at least.

Anonymous

As someone who's only become a parteon in the past few months, I wanted to ask something. How do you plan on handling the AOT and GOT reactions in April and onward? Are you gonna maintain a weekly upload schedule? If so, with the amount of editing you do, how long after an episode releases do you think you'll actually be able to get the reaction out? I don't want to make you feel rushed, I honestly could wait months to see your reactions, and I don't want to make you feel pressured into getting the reactions out quickly at the expense of quality, or anything like that, I'm just curious as to what your plan is once April comes round.

Anonymous

April 28th!!!😆😎👊🙌💃

Anonymous

Damn it. Their release date and times is like saying attack on titan S3 starts from april 1 at 673:10 ..lol. cause they state it like april 28 at 24:10 which is technically 29. Well if Im misses the chance to put 3x7 to 12 completely now. he will have more time in April.

Wolves

That Eren divebombing moment combined with the music was such an adrenaline rush moment, like I felt my heart rising and as I did I felt the emotion from the track and somehow got transported into attack on titan land more strongly than ever before. Absolutely beautiful. That and the first time Eren transformed and started to obliterate Titan heads. Can't help but get chills. Aghhh!!

Another bit of news is it seems season 3B will be 10 episodes long (with 18 chapters to cover). For reference, season 2 was 12 episodes with 17 chapters to cover, but they added a very long list of scenes that were not in the manga/not in that arc to polish the arc up into a presentable 12 episode long product (or else season 2 would've easily been 10 episodes as well). The Eren/Mikasa/Armin/Hannes long flashback in 2x8, Ymir's entire flashback in 2x10 (it was not in that arc in the manga), among many other scenes in the first half. In terms of us having 2 less episodes to watch it's bad news, in terms of the adaptation it probably means a direct 1-to-1 manga --> anime adaptation with almost zero anime-only content, which is amazing. We'll see how it's executed.

Raykel

Thats actually some good news to be honest. It means they are not stretching anything and based on the kind of content we get, it makes sense. So 10 Episodes of pure Hype!!

Anonymous

It does make way more sense having 10 episodes tho since s3p1 covered 22 chapters in 12 episodes, which is about 1,8 chapters per episode, 2nd half will cover 18 of them in 10 episodes, which is also 1,8 chapters per episode

Anonymous

It's not the optimal season to pick in terms of comparing chapter ---> episode adaptation ratios because chapters 51-72 and episodes 38-49 (season 3A) were done different on dozens of occasions. The main plot's unchanged but characters are present in places where they weren't present in in the anime, interactions took place that the manga had but the anime didn't and vice versa. I even recommend Im to read chapters 51 - 72 on his own time at some point, the differences were major enough that it's a whole different experience. No way of knowing how many chapters part 1 of season 3 actually is though is my point.

Anonymous

Why so many people are complaining about season 3 part 2 having 10 episodes? It's good news, it means there's a huge possibility they won't cut out any scenes from the anime (unlike the first part of season 3 which is different from the manga, especially the first few episodes). I understand if you're anime only fan, then it's normal that you are sceptical about it, but trust me, 10 episodes is better. And if you're a manga reader but somehow i still have not convinced you, go read chapters 73-90 and divide them into episodes. Here's the catch, you can't make certain scenes (be it action scene or just dialogue) seem longer than they should be, don't stretch them too much. Tell me how many episodes you got. Be reasonable :)

ArtficialFlvrz

I don't think most people have a problem with it, and the few that do should realize after a bit of thought that the battle makes it a very action packed arc. Flashy parts of a chapter that would be 2 page spreads or detailed action poses to show motion with little to no dialogue will only take up a few seconds of an entire episode. It's almost the same chapter/episode ratio as season 2 was, and even then they had to stretch it to 12 with anime-only stuff because there actually wasn't enough. Ymir's flashback didn't exist in the manga and it was almost it's own episode. They can fit this whole thing into these 10 episodes just fine. People who remember the manga definitely know that.

If you guys are looking for other good AoT reactors besides Filmbuff and AccentCentral, I just found a small reactor named “Skullknight reacts” who does a good pre/post discussion. Notably, he deduced how titan shifters are created all the way back in 2x10 just like Im.

Rory Borcherding

Did any one else see that weird story about season 3 part 2 having recap episodes as part of the ten? Wtf. Surely this is a mistake.

Anonymous

Haven't heard anything like that, it'd be nigh impossible to fit anyway.

FILMBuFF

Hello, It is certainly my plan to maintain a weekly upload schedule with AoT 3B and GoT S8. Each week the goal is to have them up by Wednesday. I will only focus on these two shows come April/May. It could be a huge phase for my channel, these two are the biggest shows on my channel, in terms of viewership. All of that would be ideal, but unfortunately I cannot promise anything at this point, lets see how it all plays out, come April :)

Anonymous

Hey filmbuff I always wondered once season 3b is over since its most likely gonna take another year or two for season 4 did you ever think about reading the manga or doing reactions to it

Anonymous

The breaks are actually a good thing (for him). If he had AoT content to do at all times all throughout each and every year his scheduling would be completely screwed in terms of variety since his channel isn't about AoT specifically. A show (Death Note) won a poll 2+ months ago, he has like 20 other shows he's been meaning to do reactions for, game series, etc. Also keep in mind not everyone who's watched the anime has read the manga, but basically everyone who's read the manga has watched the anime so reacting to the anime blindly puts everyone on equal footing, making it more accessible to more people.

Anonymous

I don't think anyone will see/read this but why am I only now aware of SNK drama Cds?😤 I've been binge listening to them all day😂 so funny!

Anonymous

Do not read beyond this sentence Im! AOT Question for the manga readers: Just saw the new opening and I feel like Im should skip it. Some major stuff is just becoming painfully obvious because of it.

Anonymous

Yes a lot of spoiler in the opening especially frame by frame, most you wouldnt be able to comprehend without context and some just really obvious. Just don't do frame by frame or you will get spoiled.

Anonymous

Just stumbled on you on YT, and it stopped here?! NoOoOoOOooOOoo, hope you come back and finish AoT FilmBuff, hope all is good.
