A friend got this for me, it’s beautiful! I love larger editions of graphic novels! (Manga in this case) they assured me that this is no where close to the events of season 3. looking forward to checking this out at some point 👌🏼

I have only read two Manga's before this, Battle Royale in its entirety and the first volume of Blame (the art is stunning in that!)

Season 3 starts at volume 13 of the manga and this covers just volumes 1-5, so don't worry about it! The art is a bit weird on the first volumes, but Isayama has greatly improved since then, hopefully you won't find it that distracting.

Oh wow ! Im so intrigued to know whats inside those pages

That's badass😮

Isayama's drawings improved dramatically as time passed. What you got there is volumes 1-5 I think (so up to around the halfway point of season 1 episode 17) so you don't really get to see that but there's a difference even then.

Awesome. I was gonna suggest to you that if you wanna rewatch the series at some point you could check the manga. It fleshes out the scenes a little more and gives more context.

Wow that's a nice gift. Yeah the Colossal Editions cover 5 volumes each and you have the larger pictures. I personally prefer the actual volumes because the covers are nicer, but this is still awesome. And don't worry about spoilers in this one. S3 starts at Vol.13 which would be halfway through the third edition. The one thing is though, that if you ever go through these, don't expect the art to be beautiful or consistent in these early chapters. Nowadays it's gotten so much better and Isayama's art is truly something special, but at the beginning it was a bit rough. If you ever get to some of the later parts in the manga you'll know what I'm talking about. I'd love to show you some comparisons, but I don't want to get into spoilers obviously. But to be fair there are some magnificent panels that you could look at which are S1/S2 coverage. And the nice thing is it's less censored than in the anime.

Oh man i'm jealous. I need this too!!

Reading the manga can also be quite good, because Isayama likes to include cameos from other shows. One time he did a cameo for GOT in Attack on Titan after binge watching the show

It's also good to see what changes have been made for the anime and what have been left out. For example in the season 2 finale at the end where everyone meets up after the battle, eren casually mentions the people who have died fighting rheiner and berthold while in the manga, its a totally different setting with a lot more emotions.

I've actually only read the manga after events of S2, so I never knew that Isayama's drawings weren't always that good. I checked it out and it's amazing to see the development he made. Bravo. I'm actually amazed.

Oh that's awesome. You could read volume 2 of the colossal edition too. But don't get volume three until you watch season 3 or you'll get spoiled.

I started reading AoT's manga a few months ago. It's pretty damn good. I like how it actually has more gore than the anime in some parts. I also read the Neon Genesis Evangelion manga awhile back. To this day, I haven't seen the anime.

They better have made a hardcover version called "Armored edition".
