New video on how hunger works during fasting. I know another video I did sort of already covers this (the Ghrelin part) but I thought it would be good to present everything together in the context of what is causing hunger when fasting (and in general).

Intermittent Fasting & Hunger - What the Science says

The Science behind what is really making you hungry when you're fasting. ▲Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/WILearned ▲Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeverettlearned ▲Bitcoin: 1CuSEgDr5raV3XKoHL7W19QRoCkE3iHt1X This video will explain why hunger won't get worse and worse while fasting and why keeping your blood glucose and insulin low & why trying a keto diet will help you adapt to fasting a lot easier. When I first started doing intermittent fasting, handling the hunger was quite difficult. I tried several things to try and make myself less hungry without breaking the fast, but what was most helpful was knowing that it would go away on its own, and why this was the case. So, I hope that this video helps those of you trying out prolonged or intermittent fasting - hunger is pretty much inescapable, there is going to be some level of discomfort when trying out fasting, but it's very encouraging to know that things will change and hunger will naturally go away. Sections: 0:59 - Why hunger is rhythmic & doesn't just get stronger over time 3:13 - Why low Salt may be cause of your hunger while fasting 5:00 - How Insulin works 5:36 - How Glucagon works 6:10 - Insulin Makes you Hungry, Glucagon doesn't 7:51 - Ketones/Ketosis & Hunger 9:27 - Why you shouldn't go overboard on protein 9:59 - Letpin, the satiety hormone Featured Music: Broke for Free’s ”Summer Spliff” Deal The Villain "Sweet" Shoutout to Aubrey McKenze for the gauge (insulin rise) animation idea For business inquiries: joseph.everett.wil@gmail.com

Some interesting stuff in there. I'm keen to know more about the interactions with salt. Do you have more references on the 2.3g recommendation being too low for optimal health? Also you have three papers referenced on sodium excretion - the first [R] seems to only link to the title of the paper - do you have a link for the full paper or at least an abstract? Finally, on salt and hunger, I've found several studies that show salt intake giving rise to hunger - what are your views on those? Many thanks!

I haven't watched your video yet so I can't make a solid review of it. However, what I what to propose is that you can create some content relating to magnesium. As you did with salt (sodium and other minerals) magnesium can be a keystone in a balanced health, nonetheless, I am not sure about this but there are many books, videos, blogs and even Facebook groups (communities) that orbit around magnesium intake. Anyhow, I think it's a good moment to say that I really like the content you are creating, and you combine really well what can be considered "entertainment" and learning. Thank you and keep thinking outside of the box!
