lol that pipe spaghetti for the liquid storage... just pump to the top one then pipe down to each lower one.

Pipes are definetly broken. I have so much hell trying to get water to some of the machines of my plant. Too many pumps can mess things up too many splitters can mess things up to long of a pipe can mess things up. I think you get the picture. The devs are very active with development so I figure one day they will work flawlessly

I know you don't ever wanna have to go back to the oil drills, but pipes are such a headache that it's just better to build the refineries next to the drills and then belt all the product back. I think one of the things you can unlock has a fluid packager, so you could get that and turn the fluids into an item you can put on a belt
