Call me crazy, but after sleeping on it, I’m still not satisfied with my previous attempts at the internal shot. Today I woke up and realized something. There are two different ways to depict this kind of thing. One is an X-Ray shot. That’s where we see what’s going on inside, from the outside point of view. The other is a true internal shot. This is where we see what’s going on inside, from the inside. And for this to work, you have to get CLOSE.

The reason why my previous attempt didn’t sit well with me was because it started as an X-Ray shot, and then I tried to turn it into an internal shot. I did this subconsciously without realizing there was a distinction between the two. So while the anatomy was right, the perspective was totally off. So this time I’ve redrawn it, and gone for a true internal shot.

This type of shot is far more interesting to me, and I’m finally pleased with the results, so I think I can move on from this now and get started on something new. I’m gonna add a few more details, reapply the tone, and patch the new shot into the comic.

I'll reply to comments when I can... for now, I must sleeeep...
