Marvin recalls his situation... Had fun with the textures on this page and managed to get a good shadowy tone to set the mood. Designing his science project was a little tough but I think I managed to get something between a leaf blower, vacuum pump, and "what the fuck is that"? Well, we'll find out eventually...

Ah so Chelsea had that big of an effect on her. That science project made me wonder if he had made his junk big artificially. Glad to know that he didn't mess with himself like that. I really like the textures work on this page! And the background in the last panel is great. It gives an obsessive atmosphere to the situation. And the garbage bin in the corner makes me laugh a lot hahaha.

Ha ha Marvin's not even TRYING to aim that thing. He's just machine-gunning in all directions at this point. But what an obstacle it is to have one that won't go down. On another note, I see that you were definitely able to iron out the tones that you wanted. The swirling pattern in the background of the last panel, this was a brush similar to the one you showed on stream or did you try something different?

I was happy with how they came out too. I realized that you can combine textures together as long as the screen frequency is the same they don't create any unintended or distracting patterns. One of the greatest things about challenging yourself is you always figure out new shit, haha.

It's actually a pre-made screen tone I had saved in a pack of free-use tones. Just like traditional patterns on screens every artist should have some go-to binary tones. The trick is in applying them - getting the scaling and positioning right makes all the difference. Of course, knowing which tones to apply to amplify the mood helps too.
