ah yeah smoke is a combo of solid and liquid particles and i didnt want to do steam because ive already got fog so i maybe bent the rules a tiny bit (realistically i could probs swap them around but i dont like steam as much as fog)

Reasonable! I've always kind of struggled to figure out what put for water/fire for the same reason. I've toyed with 'alcohol' a little bit, because of the whole 'lol it's fire water' thing, but I've not come up with anything serious yet.

i thought about doing alcohol too!!! but my ideas on the design were either blue fire genasi or normal guy who is drunk so i went for smoke

My thought for Alcohol was basically Water-but-beer, which probably isn't better than fire-but-blue. Still! Smoke is neat, and it does make a decent amount of sense. You put out a fire (like with water), it releases smoke.
