Hey everyone, thought I'd share this page as an example of what goes on under the hood for my larger, more visually busy compositions. You can see what I ended up with, as well as one alternate version I inked but decided to scrap, and the original sketch/thumbnail layer when I was composing it out. The scrapped ink version felt too much like a city street than the inside of a giant airship

I'll probably post this page to social media this week to keep up the promotion momentum, but the attached PSD and CLIP files are here for your exclusive access. I think this page had a lot of unused layers that I just turned invisible, but might give you a glimpse at color variations or additional scene stuff that could have been.

I recommend the CLIP file if you have ClipStudioPaint, since the filesize is much smaller and I think retains the most information.

Very cool. Love the updates and behind-the-scenes stuff.

This is by far one of my favourite scenes in the book. There's just so much to look at. Wyit knows the feeling!

Thanks Ultrascope! Seeing these kinds of process images was hugely helpful for me when I was figuring out how to work digitally, so I hope others get some benefit out of them like I would've. I probably won't do this for every single page since there's just too many, but for any of the pages that posed special challenges worth sharing, I'll throw those up here.

Big thanks Aimee, yeah I wanted to make it clear Wyit's not in Kansas anymore here, being a boy who's grown up entirely on land in an otherwise Flying Age. HOPEFULLY NOTHING BAD HAPPENS TO HIM ON THE FLIGHT, THAT WOULD BE TERRIBLE :O

Oh my! I wonder what that could be? Tragic.
